Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Subbu Suubu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pavel Grigorenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Subbu Suubu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Pavel Grigorenko!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Illya Tyunina and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suubu tries to land a leg kick but Grigorenko saw it coming and moves away.
Suubu misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

and Grigorenko counters by moving into the clinch.

Grigorenko lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Grigorenko tries to stand but can't do so whilst Suubu controls his leg.

Grigorenko is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Grigorenko wants to take a breather but Suubu is having none of it.

Suubu is pressing down on Grigorenko's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

A looping hook to the body misses from Suubu. Grigorenko does a little dance to reset his feet.

Grigorenko's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Suubu throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Grigorenko shoots in but Suubu avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Suubu cracks Grigorenko with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Suubu is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Grigorenko looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Grigorenko changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Suubu fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Grigorenko tries to kick Suubu off in order to stand up. Suubu Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Suubu decides to stand up, so the ref orders Grigorenko to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Suubu closes this distance looking for a takedown but Grigorenko circles away.
Grigorenko ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Suubu moves away.
Grigorenko throws a push kick but Suubu slaps the foot to one side.

Grigorenko closes the distance and pushes Suubu back into the cage.
Suubu is looking to take this one to the mat.
Grigorenko prevents a takedown attempt there.

Grigorenko has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Suubu clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Grigorenko had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Suubu defends it easily.

Suubu gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Suubu wants to clinch but Grigorenko slips to the side
and Grigorenko counters with a thumping low kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Grigorenko is struggling to control the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Pavel Grigorenko will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Grigorenko displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Suubu.

Grigorenko throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Suubu was covering up waiting for the punch and Grigorenko finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Suubu lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Grigorenko!

Grigorenko is desperately trying to improve his position but Suubu has a good base and remains in mount.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Grigorenko can do anything to dispel that myth.

Grigorenko is trying to escape the mount.
Suubu misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Suubu unloads with some shots from mount but Grigorenko bucks and avoids them well.

Grigorenko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Suubu. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Grigorenko rolls, trying to escape but Suubu keeps control of the position.
Suubu just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
A lull in the action here.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Suubu tightening his grip on Grigorenko, looking for the choke.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Grigorenko tries to roll but Suubu sticks to his back.

And that's the end of the fight!
Subbu Suubu showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Grigorenko has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
