Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Shibukawa Gouki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Velasquez has chosen target=blank>Down with Shane as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shibukawa Gouki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shane Velasquez! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Excellent takedown into side control there by Gouki. Gouki in side control, throwing shots but Velasquez defends. Velasquez can't do much from the bottom here. Gouki goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Velasquez has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Gouki but great work by Velasquez. Velasquez wants to stand but Gouki has his arm trapped. Gouki has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Gouki is looking to reverse the position. Velasquez tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Velasquez tries for a kimura but Gouki is defending well. Velasquez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gouki keeps working.
That's one minute gone in the round. Velasquez is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Gouki knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Gouki sneaks back into half guard. Gouki has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Velasquez is working away from the top position though. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Velasquez is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Gouki has managed to free his arm - good work. Gouki actively working from the bottom here. Gouki tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Velasquez has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Gouki is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Gouki defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Velasquez. Velasquez working for a guillotine from mount but Gouki is in no mood to give up. Velasquez looks gassed! Velasquez swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Gouki is now in Velasquez's guard. A big mistake from Velasquez there, giving up the dominant position! Gouki won't allow Velasquez to sweep him here. Gouki drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gouki jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Gouki throwing strikes but missing. Gouki tries to free his leg and advance position but Velasquez is retaining full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Velasquez is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Velasquez is working for a kimura but Gouki is defending it quite comfortably.
Gouki actively working from the bottom here. Gouki is looking for a sweep. Velasquez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Velasquez passes to side control. Velasquez tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Velasquez has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Velasquez tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Velasquez decides to stand back up. Velasquez steps back and let's Gouki get back to his feet. Velasquez with a poor takedown and Gouki counters with a shoot takedown. Velasquez fights it but they end up in guard. Gouki wants to pass the guard but Velasquez is keeping the position. Gouki stopping the sweep attempt from Velasquez. Velasquez is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Shane Velasquez will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Velasquez misses with a takedown and Gouki counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Velasquez throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Velasquez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Gouki drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gouki jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Gouki looking to pass the guard. Velasquez has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Gouki should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Velasquez has tightened it up now! Gouki should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
