Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dimitri Kasponov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin Bastedo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Justin Bastedo told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kasponov moves into range and clinches up with Bastedo.
Bastedo tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Kasponov's elbow.
Kasponov pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Dimitri Kasponov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Kasponov.
Kasponov closes the distance and clinches up with Bastedo, looking for a takedown. Kasponov pushes Bastedo against the cage but Bastedo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kasponov is trying to maintain the position but Bastedo is very close to passing his half guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Dimitri Kasponov will probably get the nod.

Bastedo shoots for a takedown but Kasponov saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Kasponov just misses with a elbow thrown towards Bastedo's brow.

Bastedo is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Kasponov to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Kasponov shrugs it off.
