PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Gram (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think King might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to King of Kings. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

King rushes Gram and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

King breaks from the clinch.
King swings away with a body shot that misses
and Gram counters with a left and a right that stings King.
Gram looks for a takedown but King sprawls well.

King rushes Gram and presses him up against the cage.

Gram breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gram slips under a jab from King.
King bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Gram's head.

King has closed the distance and engaged Gram in a clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

King manages to break the clinch.
Gram tries to clinch but King moves out of range.

King keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Gram will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
King rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Gram counters with a three punch combo that has King backing up. King nods at Gram to acknowledge the strikes.

King moves into the clinch.
King lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

King's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Gram shoots in and bounces King off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
King is looking to stand up but Gram isn't so interested in that idea.
Gram in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
King wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Gram manages to pass to side control.

Gram is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. King can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

King on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if King tries to get out of the position.

A close round but Jay Gram will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

King lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
King throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

King is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

King pushes Gram up against the cage in a clinch.

Gram has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but King regains guard immediately.
Gram won't allow King to get back to his feet.
Gram wants to control from the top but King keeps moving.
Gram lands a couple of elbows.
Gram is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Gram decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on King, up you get!

The crowd cheers as King lands an impressive looking overhand right. Gram doesn't seem phased though.
Gram with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling King to score with a decent uppercut.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Chris King decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
