Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Evan TanHer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aleksei Kruschev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kruschev has chosen Shout at the Devil by Motley Crue as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Evan TanHer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Aleksei Kruschev!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

TanHer scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
TanHer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kruschev keeps working.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Kruschev takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
TanHer cracks Kruschev with a big elbow.
Kruschev is trying to buck TanHer off.
TanHer works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Kruschev is pushing TanHer's head away, looking to escape. TanHer manages to hold on to the position though.
Kruschev is not content to let TanHer control the position.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Kruschev is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, TanHer asserts his dominance and retains side control.

TanHer is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kruschev has escaped the position, nice work there.
TanHer has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The strikes coming from TanHer are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Kruschev wants to get back to his feet.
TanHer slows the pace down.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

TanHer clinches up with Kruschev and pushes him back against the ropes.

TanHer is trying to trip Kruschev. He has hold of a leg but Kruschev is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. TanHer persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

A punch lands to the side of Kruschev 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Evan TanHer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kruschev tries to clinch up but TanHer circles away and keeps his distance.

TanHer has control of Kruschev's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Kruschev regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Kruschev is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

TanHer is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Kruschev can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Evan TanHer overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

TanHer throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
TanHer striking off his back but it's not causing Kruschev any problems.
Kruschev must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
TanHer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That was a close second round but I would say that Evan TanHer will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
