The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Caisse to score an easy takedown into full guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Caisse slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Johnson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Caisse can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Caisse trying to control but Johnson is working from the bottom. Caisse postures up and lands a big shot to Johnson's brow. Caisse lands a couple of decent looking shots. Johnson wants to sweep but no luck. Caisse passes Johnson's right leg, so he's now in half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Caisse in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Johnson tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Caisse!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jean Caisse! In his post fight interview, Jean Caisse started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
