The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alexander shoots and misses
and Masson counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Alexander with a lazy takedown attempt
and Masson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Alexander won't be happy with that.

Masson throws an elbow but Alexander slips to the side and avoids it well.
Alexander is trying to control Masson's posture but Masson avoids it.

Alexander escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Masson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Alexander will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Masson postures up in Alexander's guard and throws a big left but Alexander blocks it.

Alexander manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Masson manages to get himself to full guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Alexander is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Masson sees it coming and defends easily.

Masson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Alexander paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Masson has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Alexander is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Masson feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Alexander's calf.
Masson is looking to clinch but Alexander is avoiding it.
Masson has Alexander up against the cage in a clinch.
Alexander is looking to take this one to the mat.
Masson prevents a takedown attempt there.
Masson is trying to pull guard but Alexander has him pressed against the cage.
Masson drags the fight down to the ground.
