Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hal Tamner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kaba Meshdej (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hal Tamner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kaba Meshdej! The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Igor Prikhodko and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meshdej tries to clinch but Tamner is having none of it. Meshdej wants to clinch. Tamner shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Meshdej sprawls well. Meshdej wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Tamner gets slowly back to his feet. Tamner circles away from the clinch attempt.
Tamner misses with a head kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Meshdej looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Meshdej closes the distance and clinches. Meshdej is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Meshdej displaying some good clinch control by pressing Tamner up against the cage. Meshdej drops down looking for an ankle pick but Tamner pulls his leg out and moves away.

Meshdej rushes Tamner and presses him up against the cage. Meshdej breaks the clinch.
Meshdej tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tamner sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Meshdej somewhat. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Meshdej has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Hal Tamner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kaba Meshdej. The fight stays on the outside here - Meshdej looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Tamner dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Meshdej fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Tamner avoids it really well and circles away. Meshdej slaps away a takedown attempt from Tamner, before circling back to the center of the mat. Tamner misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Meshdej counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fight stays on the outside here - Meshdej looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Tamner throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Meshdej stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Meshdej closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Tamner's guard. Meshdej must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. This has been an exciting period of action! Hammerfist, elbow! yells Meshdej's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Tamner is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Meshdej tries to roll over but Tamner keeps him under control. Tamner missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Tamner stops Meshdej from getting back to his feet.
Tamner wants to work for an arm triangle but Meshdej is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Tamner is taking a breather. Meshdej says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tamner is keen to just control but Meshdej is a slippery customer. Tamner passes the guard and advances to mount! Meshdej really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tamner. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Tamner looking to control but Meshdej is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Meshdej working to try and regain half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tamner with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Meshdej tries to reverse the position but Tamner maintains control. Tamner unloads with some shots from mount but Meshdej bucks and avoids them well.

Tamner thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Tamner trying to control but he's not successful this time. Tamner working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Meshdej bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Meshdej lands some shots froms side control. Tamner prevents Meshdej from improving position. Tamner sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Tamner slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Tamner is trying to keep Meshdej in close.
Tamner has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Meshdej can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tamner is on top in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tamner stays in close to Meshdej's body and controls the position. Meshdej looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tamner is one step ahead there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tamner drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Tamner jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Meshdej wants to stand up but Tamner is controlling him. Tamner is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Tamner is looking to work some ground and pound but Meshdej has wrist control. Tamner throwing strikes from guard but Meshdej blocks nicely.

Tamner gets to his feet. Meshdej looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Tamner shoots in but no luck this time. Meshdej tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Tamner swivels and escapes. Meshdej fails with a takedown attempt. Tamner closes this distance looking for a takedown but Meshdej circles away. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Meshdej fails in his attempt to clinch. Meshdej stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Meshdej wants it to stay on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hal Tamner. That's going to take a lot out of him. Meshdej gets a takedown into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Meshdej is thwarting Tamner's attempts to control the position. Meshdej is nestled in close to Tamner, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Tamner has his hands clasped together around Meshdej's back. He's all about the action. Meshdej trying to control the action but Tamner is working from the bottom. Meshdej trying to mount his opponent but Tamner defends it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Tamner moves into full guard.

Tamner throws a push kick but Meshdej slaps the foot to one side. Meshdej takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Tamner keeps the fight on the outside. Tamner avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Tamner fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Meshdej walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Meshdej will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Tamner lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Meshdej clinches with his opponent.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Meshdej will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Tamner up against the cage.

He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Meshdej works his way back into a safe position though. Meshdej scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Hal Tamner overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Tamner has a loose triangle. Meshdej drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Tamner manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Meshdej has Tamner in his guard. Kaba Meshdej is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Meshdej keeping moving, preventing Tamner from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tamner postures up in Meshdej's guard and throws a big left but Meshdej blocks it. Meshdej trying to control the position.
Tamner trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Hal Tamner has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Tamner is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Meshdej wants to clinch. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Meshdej tries to clinch there but Tamner circles away.
And that's the end of the fight! Hal Tamner showed his dominance in that final round. I think Meshdej has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
