Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Comrie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carl Raphson! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Raphson wants to clinch and Comrie cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Raphson thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Comrie if he has to take too many more of those.
Comrie scores with a jab. Raphson acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Raphson clinches with his opponent.
Raphson stalls. Comrie tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Raphson just stands there and leans against the cage. Comrie being controlled against the cage. Comrie tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Raphson just misses with a elbow thrown towards Comrie's brow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Comrie being controlled against the cage. Raphson stops a takedown attempt from Comrie.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Comrie. That's going to take a lot out of him. Comrie managing to block the knees to the body from Raphson.
Raphson effectively controlling the action here. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Carl Raphson. Comrie connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Raphson's hands. Comrie misses with a right hand and Raphson counters with a two punch combo.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Raphson clinches with his opponent.
Comrie gets a trip takedown into half guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Comrie trying to control the pace. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Raphson tries to get to full guard but Comrie has control of the leg. Comrie is trying to control the action in half guard but Raphson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Raphson won't allow Comrie to pass to mount.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mike Comrie. Comrie shoots in looking for a takedown. Raphson tries to sprawl out of it but Comrie keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Raphson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Raphson blocks a jab. Raphson doesn't manage to clinch there - Comrie circles away.
Donk. Comrie catches Raphson right on the button with a cross. Raphson moves in looking to clinch but Comrie pushes him off. Comrie looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Comrie throws a body punch but Raphson moves out of range. Comrie keeps the fight on the outside. Raphson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Comrie, pushing him back against the cage. Come on Raphson - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Comrie goes for a takedown attempt but Raphson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Raphson tries to clinch up but Comrie circles away and keeps his distance. Comrie slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Comrie avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Carl Raphson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Comrie is looking to slow Raphson down with leg kicks. Comrie throws a solid leg kick but Raphson takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Comrie. Raphson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Comrie. Comrie avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Comrie misses with an uppercut
and Raphson moves into the clinch. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Comrie fails to pull guard.
A short left from Raphson. Comrie can't get the takedown.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Mike Comrie will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Comrie scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Raphson wants to clinch up but Comrie keeps it at a distance. Raphson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Comrie. Raphson rushes Comrie and presses him up against the cage. Raphson manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Raphson receives a warning from the referee for stalling.
That's one minute gone in the round. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Carl Raphson. Raphson doesn't manage to clinch there - Comrie circles away.
Comrie throws a push kick but Raphson slaps the foot to one side. Raphson looks to clinch and Comrie counters with a nice uppercut. Comrie connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Raphson ducks under a wild hook from Comrie. Comrie swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Raphson tries to clinch up. Raphson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Raphson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Raphson tries to close the distance and clinch but Comrie swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Raphson has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Comrie finds it's way round the side to connect with Raphson's head. Raphson instigates a clinch. With the fighters up against the cage, Raphson throws an elbow but misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Comrie blocking some punches.
The referee is keeping an eye on Raphson - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Raphson is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Comrie is defending well for now. Raphson lands with a right to the head. Comrie fails to pull the fight into his guard.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Raphson is pressed up against the cage. Comrie has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Raphson down to the mat. Raphson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Raphson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Raphson dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Comrie pulls guard. Raphson is standing up over Comrie. Comrie looks to escape but Raphson dives into side control.
Comrie is pushing Raphson's head away, looking to escape. Raphson manages to hold on to the position though. Comrie is looking to get back to his feet here but Raphson is keeping cool and he's managed to take Comrie's back. Raphson is trying to control but Comrie is trying to escape here - he's now mounted.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Raphson controlling his opponent. Comrie is squirming around, avoiding Raphson's attempts to control the action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carl Raphson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Comrie throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Mike Comrie is winning the standup battle so far. A low kick from Comrie misses and Raphson counters with a three punch combo that has Comrie backing up. Comrie nods at Raphson to acknowledge the strikes. Comrie lands with a hook. Raphson tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Raphson misses with the combination.
Raphson tries to clinch up. Carl Raphson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Raphson lands a really nice looking cross but Comrie seems unphased.
Raphson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Comrie swats him away and circles back towards the center. Comrie waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Raphson. Raphson closes the distance and clinches. Raphson lands with a short shot to the head. Comrie dodges an elbow strike from Raphson.
That's one minute gone in the round. Comrie tries to break free but Raphson pushes him back against the cage. Stalling in the clinch from Raphson.
Comrie turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Comrie manages to end up in side control. Comrie goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Raphson rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Comrie's guard! Nice work there by Raphson! Comrie is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Raphson dives into side control.
Comrie is pushing Raphson's head away, looking to escape. Raphson manages to hold on to the position though. My spies in Skylab Vegas inform me that Raphson has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Raphson is looking to take a break and control but Comrie is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Comrie wants to get back to his feet but Raphson drags him back down.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Raphson passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Comrie! Comrie is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Raphson tries to control but Comrie wriggling away. Comrie tries to buck Raphson off but he can't manage it. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Comrie is squirming around, avoiding Raphson's attempts to control the action.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Carl Raphson. I think Raphson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
