Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Roads (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Loid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Jeff Loid enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Roads! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeff Loid! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Loid fails with the takedown and Roads counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Loid's guard now. Loid wants to get back to his feet but Roads is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Loid has a closed guard, preventing Roads from standing up. Roads sitting in guard here, content to control. Roads stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Loid swivels though and keeps the full guard. Roads landing some decent shots from guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roads wanted to stand there but Loid had control of the position. Roads trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Roads not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up because James Roads just wasn't active enough. Roads doesn't manage to clinch there - Loid circles away.
Roads tries to clinch and Loid counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Roads keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Loid tries to keep at a distance but Roads has taken the fight into the clinch. Roads lands a body punch in the clinch. Roads softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Roads lands a takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Roads slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Roads wants to get up but he can't break Loid's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roads has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Roads controls from within his opponent's guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up because James Roads just wasn't active enough. Roads feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Loid can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Roads controls the pace. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Roads has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Roads gets a clinch. Loid gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Roads.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Roads. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Roads gets through Loid's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Roads dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Roads tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Loid paws at him with a jab and circles away. Roads wants to clinch. Roads shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Loid napping and manages to drive through into side control! Loid is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Roads asserts his dominance and retains side control. Roads tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Roads in side control, just content to control the action for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roads tries to get to his feet but Loid is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with Roads in his guard. Loid keeping full guard, as Roads tries to pass. Roads passes easily into side control. Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Roads moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Roads's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roads wants to stand but Loid is controlling his arm. Roads just content to control the position.
James Roads has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Loid with a lazy takedown attempt and Roads counters with a nice double leg into guard. Roads gets to his feet - Loid follows without any prompting. Roads closes the distance and pushes Loid back into the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Loid tries to pull guard but Roads holds him up against the cage and eventually Loid drops back down to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Roads holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Roads manages to break the clinch.
Loid walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Roads gets in close and instigates a clinch. Roads lands with a short shot to the head. Loid tries to pull guard but Roads forces him back to his feet, against the cage. James Roads has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeff Loid. Roads manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Roads preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Roads is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Loid can do to turn this around? Loid throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Roads works some decent striking defense from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Roads dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Loid shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Roads sprawls well. Roads wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Loid gets slowly back to his feet. James Roads seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Loid shoots in for a double leg but Roads sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Roads closes the distance and clinches. A quick uppercut on the inside from Roads. Roads is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Roads lands a shoulder strike. Roads lands with a short head shot on the inside. Roads lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Loid takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Roads breaks the clinch.
Roads closes the distance and clinches. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Roads gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Loid regains guard.
Roads would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roads is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The ref stands the fighters back up. James Roads wasn't doing enough on the ground. Roads has Loid up against the cage in a clinch.
Roads lands a hook to the side of the head. Roads just leaning against Loid, taking a breather.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Roads lands a shoulder strike. Roads lands with a right to the head. Roads pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Roads shoots in for a takedown and gets it, with a heavy slam. That will score well with the judges.
Loid is rocked! Roads is pushing down on Loid's leg trying to pass to half guard. Loid is fighting to maintain full guard but Roads has managed to sneak the leg through. Loid is still in real trouble! Can Roads finish him? Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Roads seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Roads trying to mount his opponent but Loid defends it. Loid seems to have recovered his senses. Loid is in trouble now - Roads has advanced to mount! James Roads is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Roads content just to control the position here. Roads knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Loid on the ground.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Roads sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
We're going to have a standup here because James Roads wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Roads wants to clinch.
And that's the end of the fight! James Roads showed his dominance in that final round. Well Roads has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
