Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roberto Red (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vlad Dracol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vlad Dracol is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Roberto Red!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Vlad Dracol!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, David Hoff and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Red.
Dracol scores with a nice body kick.
Dracol tries to score a power double leg takedown but Red sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dracol somewhat.
Dracol looks for a takedown but Red sprawls well.

Dracol moves into the clinch successfully.

Dracol's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dracol looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
No luck for Dracol with that takedown attempt.
Roberto Red has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vlad Dracol.
Red shoots in for a takedown but Dracol shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Red forces Dracol back against the cage and clinches.
Dracol tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Red smiles and moves away.

Dracol gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Red drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Red is looking to control Dracol's arms but Dracol gets an underhook and turns him. Now Red has his back to the cage.
Red is working for takedown but Dracol is calmly controlling the position for now.
Red tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Dracol drops down looking for an ankle pick but Red pulls his leg out and moves away.
Dracol looks for a takedown but Red sprawls well.

Red tries to keep at a distance but Dracol has taken the fight into the clinch.

Dracol successfully pulls guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Dracol is pulling down on Red's head to control his posture.
Red wants to control from the top but Dracol keeps moving.
Dracol has a closed guard, preventing Red from standing up.

We're going to have a standup here because Roberto Red wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Dracol shoots in looking for a takedown but Red manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dracol's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Red throws a combination that misses
and Dracol counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Dracol shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Red defends it nicely.

Dracol has taken the fight to the clinch.
Red jumps guard but Dracol stands there with Red around his waist. Red gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Dracol tries for a takedown but Red manages to get underhooks.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dracol.

Dracol gets a takedown into half guard.

Dracol is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Dracol looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Dracol throws a shot to the body.
Red misses with a wild combination.
Dracol shoots in for a takedown but Red shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Dracol shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Red as he jumps to the side.

and Red counters with a nice leg kick.
Roberto Red has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vlad Dracol.
Red misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Dracol lands a jab to Red's midsection.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Dracol shoots for a double leg takedown but Red sprawls well. He's pushed Dracol's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Dracol dives in and grabs Red's left leg, looking for a takedown. Red pushes down on Dracol's head and hops out.
Dracol tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Red manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Dracol is looking to slow Red down with leg kicks.
Red gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Dracol connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Dracol takes the fight into the clinch.

Dracol successfully pulls guard.
Dracol is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Red is controlling him.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Dracol keeping moving, preventing Red from controlling successfully.

Dracol has his foot on Red's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Red works his way back into a safe position though.
Red throws an elbow that misses. Dracol uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Red's guard. Nice move by Dracol!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Red has momentary wrist control but Dracol slips an elbow through the middle.

Dracol landing some decent shots from guard.
Dracol with a nice head shot there.
Dracol looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Red not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Dracol controlling from the top position.
Dracol is looking to work some ground and pound but Red has wrist control.

Dracol controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Dracol's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Roberto Red wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Dracol moves into the clinch.

Dracol breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Roberto Red is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Dracol shoots in but no luck this time.
Dracol shoots for a takedown but Red saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Dracol throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Red's waist but Red gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dracol off to one side.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Red shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dracol sprawls well. Dracol wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Red gets slowly back to his feet.

Dracol moves into range and clinches up with Red.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vlad Dracol showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Red's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Dracol shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Red sprawls well. Red wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dracol gets slowly back to his feet.
Good leg kick by Dracol there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

A bit of stalling here from Dracol.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Dracol takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Red jumps into guard, dragging Dracol to the mat.
Red looking for a sweep. Not yet Red, not yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Dracol throws a big right hand that misses.
Dracol controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Red looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dracol is one step ahead there.
Dracol must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Red is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dracol is controlling him.
Dracol tries to free his leg and advance position but Red is retaining full guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Dracol is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Vlad Dracol.

and Red counters with a two punch combo.
Red looks for a takedown but Dracol sprawls well.

Dracol stands up and beckons Red to his feet.
Red on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Dracol. Dracol obviously looking to wear him down.

A left and a right from Dracol both land. Nice combination.

Dracol darts in and clinches Red up against the cage.

Dracol pulls Red into guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Dracol has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Red can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Red drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Dracol dives on top into guard.
Roberto Red has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Vlad Dracol is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Red has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Dracol is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Red.

And that's the end of the fight!
Vlad Dracol comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Dracol has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
