Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lonny Payne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Gee Yio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gee Yio has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Lee Gee Yio has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lonny Payne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lee Gee Yio!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gee Yio with a poor takedown

and Payne counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Payne could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Gee Yio looks winded!
Gee Yio blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Payne's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Payne rushes Gee Yio and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Gee Yio is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Payne to keep the fight standing.
Payne lands a nice uppercut.
Payne looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Payne has Gee Yio pressed against the cage, preventing Gee Yio from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Payne is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Gee Yio tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Lonny Payne has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lee Gee Yio.

Payne manages to pull guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Payne is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Payne pushes Gee Yio off and scrambles back to his feet.
Payne tries to close the distance and clinch but Gee Yio swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Payne looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Payne tries to clinch but Gee Yio moves out of range.
Gee Yio throws a right hand that Payne ducks under and follows up with a left that Payne also avoids with ease.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Payne rushes Gee Yio and presses him up against the cage.
Payne misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Gee Yio.

Payne has clasped his hands together around Gee Yio's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Payne is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Gee Yio looks calm but he's in trouble here. Payne gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Gee Yio is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Payne lets go of the hold and Gee Yio can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Lonny Payne!
