The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velez has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
It looks like Herman Velez has been cut.
Larry Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Velez moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Jones looks to land a combination but Velez avoids it well.
Jones keeps the fight on the outside.
Jones throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Velez.
Jones pounces like a tiger and cracks Velez with a vicious hook! Velez is down but not out! Jones follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

In his post fight interview, Larry Jones started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
