Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Robbin Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takeshi Miike (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Nervecell - Psychogenocide. Robbin Gracie has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Robbin Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
34 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Takeshi Miike! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paul Aken and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie has closed the distance and engaged Miike in a clinch.
Gracie prevents Miike from breaking the clinch. A battle for position here, against the cage. Gracie jumps guard but Miike stands there with Gracie around his waist. Gracie gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Gracie wants the takedown. Miike is fighting it off but Gracie persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Miike's guard against the cage. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Gracie looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Gracie postures up and lands a big shot to Miike's brow. Gracie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Gracie throws a big right hand that misses. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gracie accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Gracie is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Academia Ipanema that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Miike is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round. Miike controls Gracie momentarily but Gracie frees himself. Gracie throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Miike works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Gracie postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gracie wants to control from the top but Miike keeps moving. Gracie won't allow Miike to sweep him here. Miike is trying to control the position but Gracie postures up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gracie trying to control but Miike is working from the bottom. Miike working for a triangle but Gracie defends it easily.
Miike has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Gracie is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Miike. Gracie tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Miike is looking to reverse the position. Gracie wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Miike, who protects the arm well. Miike tries to bench press Gracie off him but Gracie keeps the position. Miike on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Gracie lands a decent elbow from side control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Gracie throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Miike is trying to get back to half guard. Gracie scores with punches from side control. Gracie misses with an attempted head punch from side control. You can see the frustration on Miike's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Miike gets back to half guard. Miike pushes Gracie off looking to stand but Gracie dives back in and keeps control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Miike blocking the ground and pound attempt from Gracie. Miike works his way to full guard. Good work. Gracie landing some decent shots from guard. Gracie working some strikes from top position. Gracie will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Gracie chips away with some ground and pound. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Gracie trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Miike not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Miike avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Miike utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Miike is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gracie landing with the ground and pound. Gracie slips nicely into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gracie misses with a head shot. Miike uses the momentum to regain guard. Gracie keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Miike's head. Gracie stops Miike from standing up. Gracie landing some decent shots from guard. Gracie stands up over Miike, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Miike is on top in guard.
Miike decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Gracie, up you get! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Miike looks to score with a jab to the body but Gracie is just out of range. Gracie fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Miike, pushing him back against the cage. Gracie jumps guard but Miike turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Gracie tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Miike smiles and moves away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Robbin Gracie dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Miike throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Miike tries to keep at a distance but Gracie has taken the fight into the clinch. Gracie tries to pull guard but Miike won't allow it.

Gracie tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Miike just stands there and leans against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robbin Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him. Miike breaks from the clinch.
Gracie shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Miike pinned against the cage. Miike gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Gracie moves in looking to clinch but Miike pushes him off. Miike checks a low kick from Gracie.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miike moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Gracie dives in and grabs Miike's left leg, looking for a takedown. Miike pushes down on Gracie's head and hops out. Miike shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gracie manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Miike passes into half guard. Miike is trying to control the action in half guard but Gracie is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Miike working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Miike wants to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Miike escapes and gets back to his feet. Miike just misses with a punch to the body.
Miike feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Miike must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Miike wants to stand but Gracie has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Gracie working for submissions but it's allowed Miike to get to half guard.
Miike is looking to take a break and control but Gracie is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Gracie is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Miike pulls his head out easily. Gracie is staying active underneath Miike, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie looking for subs from the bottom but Miike mounts him! Miike working for a submission but Gracie is keeping him at bay. Gracie wants to hold on but Miike pushes him away. Gracie tries to reverse the position but Miike maintains control. Miike looking to control and managing it successfully. Gracie is trying desperately to improve position. Miike trying to control but Gracie is having none of it. Gracie is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Miike trying to control but Gracie is having none of it. Miike controlling the pace for now. Miike lands with some strikes. Robbin Gracie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Gracie is trying to escape the mount.
Miike can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Gracie is looking to escape. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gracie tries to reverse the position but Miike maintains control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Takeshi Miike showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Gracie tries to move into range but Miike moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Miike wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Gracie tries to clinch there but Miike circles away.
Miike scores with a jab to the body. Miike scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. No joy there for Miike, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Miike is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Gracie rather than just go for the knockout. Miike lands with a thumping leg kick.

Gracie sprawls well initially but Miike persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Miike. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Gracie looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Miike stands up from half guard. Miike fails to land with a series of punches.
Gracie is trying hard to land a takedown here. Miike sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Gracie fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Miike throws a nice inside leg kick. Takeshi Miike seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Miike misses with a low kick as Gracie jumps back. Gracie throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Miike's waist but Miike gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gracie off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robbin Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Miike throws a leg kick but Gracie sees it coming and moves out of range. Nice sprawl there from Miike as Gracie shoots in. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gracie takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Miike connects with a right hand. Gracie shakes it off. Miike comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Miike lands with a nice combination. Gracie backs away looking to recover. Gracie on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Miike bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Miike decides to stand back up. Miike steps back and let's Gracie get back to his feet. Miike throws a series of punches but Gracie avoids them all with ease. Miike punishes Gracie's body with a nice straight punch. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Miike shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gracie's guard. Gracie had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Miike defends it easily. Miike engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Miike decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Gracie, up you get! Gracie scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Gracie will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. A momentary lapse in concentration from Gracie enables Miike to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gracie manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Gracie being controlled here, momentarily. Miike wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving. Gracie looking for a guillotine here but Miike defends easily.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Takeshi Miike was stalling too much, according to the referee. Miike scores with a three punch combo!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Miike lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Miike connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Gracie's hands. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! A clash of legs there as Gracie blocks the low kick. Miike swings for the body but Gracie moves out of range.

And that's the end of the fight! Takeshi Miike comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Miike has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Takeshi Miike decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
