Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jae Santos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Billy Bones! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, John Kavanagh and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bones misses with a double jab.
Santos throws a leg kick but Bones sees it coming and checks it nicely. Bones moves into the clinch. Santos pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Bones fails to land the takedown. Bones stalks Santos and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Santos's face. Santos staggers backwards, shaken.
It looks like Jae Santos has been cut. Santos takes one to the side of the head.
A combination from Bones does no damage. Bones rushes Santos and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Santos breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bones takes the fight into the clinch. Santos pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bones clinches up with Santos and pushes him back against the cage. Knees in the clinch landing for Bones.
Santos breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Santos tries to sprawl but Bones drives through with a takedown into half guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. It looks like Bones is going to stand back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Billy Bones. Bones shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Santos defends it nicely. Santos fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Bones checks it well. Santos misses with a kick to the body.
Santos tries to clinch up but Bones circles away and keeps his distance. Bones keeps the fight on the outside. The fight stays on the outside here - Santos looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Bones will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Jae Santos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Billy Bones. Bones looks winded!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bones throws a lazy head kick and Santos counters with a good low kick that Bones was not able to check. Bones bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Santos's head. Bones darts in looking for a takedown but Santos gets double underhooks and turns Bones into the cage. Bones on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Billy Bones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Santos lands a head kick!
Santos tries to close the distance and clinch but Bones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Santos tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bones swats him away and circles back towards the center. Santos fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Bones has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Bones shoots in for a double leg but Santos sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Bones checks a leg kick. Bones is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Santos instigates a clinch. The referee calls for Santos to work.
Santos pushes Bones back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Santos breaks the clinch.
Santos stuffs the takedown attempt from Bones. Bones gets slowly back to his feet. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Santos tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Santos pulls out of a head kick attempt.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Santos darts in and clinches Bones up against the cage. Bones pulls guard effortlessly. Bones wants to stand but Santos is controlling the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Billy Bones will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Jae Santos's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Jae Santos is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Bones rushes Santos and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Santos is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Bones stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Bones is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Santos is defending well for now. Bones pushes Santos back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Bones is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Santos's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Santos throws a sloppy head kick and Bones moves out of range easily. Bones throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

That's one minute gone in the round. A head kick misses from Bones. Bones closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Bones is breathing heavily. Santos manages to break the clinch.
Santos takes a swing at Bones's ribcage but misses. Santos moves into the clinch successfully.
Bones is trying to break free. The referee is keeping an eye on Santos - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Bones wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Santos's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Sloppy strikes from Bones. Those never looked like landing. Bones fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Santos tries to clinch there but Bones circles away.
Santos tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Bones manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bones shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Santos but Santos pushes him off and we're back to square one. Santos clinches. Santos breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. No luck for Bones with that takedown attempt. Jae Santos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Billy Bones. Bones blocks a head kick by Santos.

Bones gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Santos doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Santos goes for a takedown attempt but Bones pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Bones tries to score a power double leg takedown but Santos sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bones somewhat. Bones avoids the head kick by Santos.

Santos gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Bones would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Santos looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Santos manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bones manages to get himself to full guard.

Santos leaves Bones with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Bones shoots in and drives through. Santos sprawls well. Santos fails in his attempt to clinch. Billy Bones seems to be getting the better of the standup. Bones takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Santos throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Santos tries a head kick but it misses.

Santos pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Santos throws a sloppy head kick and Bones moves out of range easily. Santos throws a head kick but Bones moves out of range.

Bones misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Santos dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Bones. That did some damage! Santos throws a half hearted mid kick. Bones avoids the head kick by Santos.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Santos. Santos fails in his attempt to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Santos throws a head kick that misses. Bones throws a sloppy head kick and Santos moves out of range easily. Santos moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Bones misses with a wild combination.

Santos shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Santos was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Bones wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Santos is looking to take a break and control but Bones is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Santos decides to stand back up. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bones's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Bones duly obliges. Bones will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jae Santos. I think Santos has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
