Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Bryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dominick Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daniel Bryan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Bryan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dominick Cruz! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horrible takedown by Cruz or perhaps it was just good defense by Bryan which made him look bad. Bryan tries to clinch up and Cruz counters by moving into the clinch. Cruz prevents a takedown attempt there.
Bryan keeps control of Cruz as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Bryan is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Cruz to keep the fight standing. Bryan jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Cruz walks away with a smile on his face. Bryan gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Bryan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cruz moves out of range as Bryan throws a body kick.
Cruz tries to sprawl but Bryan drives through with a takedown into half guard. Cruz trying to control but Bryan postures up.
Bryan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Bryan working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Cruz is staying active underneath Bryan, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cruz is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Bryan pulls his head out easily. Bryan controlling the action here. Bryan is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We're going to have a standup here because Daniel Bryan wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Bryan looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Cruz is fending him off so far but Bryan persists. Nope, Cruz circles away and we're back to standing. Bryan moves in looking to clinch but Cruz pushes him off. Bryan rushes Cruz and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Cruz digs a right hand underneath Bryan's ribcage. Bryan let out a lung full of air as it connected. Cruz is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Bryan wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Cruz has him pressed against the cage. Cruz prevents the takedown attempt.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bryan fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bryan misses with a punch to the body.
The referee calls for Bryan to work.
Bryan is working for takedown but Cruz is calmly controlling the position for now. Bryan fails to pull guard.
Cruz jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bryan walks away with a smile on his face. Cruz gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Cruz lands a jab-cross combination. Cruz tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Bryan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Bryan shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Cruz manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Cruz looks winded! Bryan lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Bryan stands up from guard. Let's bang! Cruz darts in and clinches Bryan up against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bryan is looking for a takedown. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cruz jumps guard but Bryan turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Bryan working hard to break the clinch. Cruz tries to break free but Bryan pushes him back against the cage. Bryan tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Cruz has picked Bryan up - he's going for a ride! Cruz dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Bryan is looking to control Cruz's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bryan avoid being mounted? As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bryan manages to get to full guard.
Bryan is pulling down on Cruz's head. It's preventing any offense from Cruz, at least for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Daniel Bryan dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Cruz throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Bryan shoots in for a takedown but Cruz shows good takedown defense. Bryan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cruz as he avoids it easily. Cruz should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Cruz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cruz slips a straight right by Bryan. Cruz tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bryan swivels and escapes. Bryan looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Cruz is fending him off so far but Bryan persists. Nope, Cruz circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Bryan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bryan pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bryan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cruz as he avoids it easily. Daniel Bryan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Bryan stuffs the takedown attempt from Cruz. Cruz gets slowly back to his feet. Bryan dives in for a single leg takedown but Cruz sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Cruz is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bryan tries to break the clinch but Cruz is controlling the position. Bryan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Bryan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Cruz fails with the takedown. Cruz shoots in but Bryan avoids the takedown attempt easily. Bryan tries to clinch but Cruz moves out of range. Cruz swats away the attempt to clinch by Bryan. Bryan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cruz looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Daniel Bryan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bryan decides to stand back up. Bryan steps back and let's Cruz get back to his feet. Bryan goes for a double leg but Cruz avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Cruz continues to drive forward. Bryan has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Cruz avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Bryan is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Bryan has Cruz pressed against the cage.
Cruz tries to score a body lock takedown but Bryan shows good agility there to stay on his feet. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cruz prevents a takedown attempt there.

Cruz is defending well against a takedown attempt. Bryan is trying to break the clinch but Cruz is controlling him. Cruz has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Bryan is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Bryan struggles to land a body shot inside as Cruz controls his hands.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Cruz as Bryan tries to tie him up. Bryan is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Cruz is defending well. Bryan wants to break free but Cruz has control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Bryan has hold of one of Cruz's legs. Cruz is fighting the takedown attempt but Bryan gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Bryan drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Bryan seems to have locked his on tight now - Cruz screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Bryan, as he picks up the win!
