![](https://www.mmatycoon.com/images/fight/round1.jpg) The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A combination from Burgundy does no damage. Burgundy looks to clinch
and Pounder counters with a nice double leg into half guard. We've been hearing that Pounder has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Pounder sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Burgundy defending well though.
Pounder looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Pounder thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Burgundy's head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pounder is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Burgundy is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jim Pounder! As Jim Pounder got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: This is officially my last fight, I had a great career and I'm glad I was able to retire with a win.'.
