7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ricardo Almeida! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Ackerman and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Coleman fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Coleman closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Almeida quickly recovers to half guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Coleman lands a nice short elbow. Almeida is defending against the submission attempts here by Coleman.
Coleman wants to stand up but Almeida is controlling the position.

Coleman frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Coleman wants to advance to full mount but Almeida doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Coleman missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Coleman prevents Almeida from getting back to his feet. Coleman wants to control from the top but Almeida keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Reggie Coleman. Coleman changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Almeida looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Coleman decides to take the fight back to the feet. Reggie Coleman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Coleman shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Almeida napping and manages to drive through into side control! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Coleman tries to advance position but instead Almeida slips a leg back in to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Coleman throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Almeida was covering up waiting for the punch and Coleman finishes the takedown easily into guard. Coleman throws a big elbow that misses. Coleman slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Coleman is looking to work some ground and pound but Almeida has wrist control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Coleman controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Coleman throwing strikes from guard but Almeida blocks nicely. Almeida is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Coleman dives into side control.

Almeida is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Coleman has just dragged him back down to the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Coleman working the strikes but Almeida uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Coleman is working for a kimura but Almeida is defending it quite comfortably.
Coleman keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Coleman tries to pass to full mount but Almeida defends it. Coleman performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Reggie Coleman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Coleman is looking for a kimura but Almeida is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Coleman to get the leverage. Coleman is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

He catches Almeida napping and manages to drive through into side control! Coleman tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Coleman trying to control the action but Almeida is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Coleman is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Almeida wants to get back to his feet but Coleman drags him back down. Coleman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Almeida keeps working.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Almeida tries to escape but Coleman is in control. Almeida trying to remain calm as Coleman controls from the top position.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Reggie Coleman just wasn't active enough. Coleman gets a double leg takedown into Almeida's guard. Coleman in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Coleman trying to control but Almeida is working from the bottom. Coleman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Almeida swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Coleman scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Coleman seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Coleman wants to pass the guard but Almeida is keeping the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Reggie Coleman just wasn't active enough. Nice takedown defense from Almeida. No joy for Coleman on that attempt. Coleman fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Reggie Coleman. That's going to take a lot out of him. Almeida displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Coleman. Coleman is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Almeida can do to turn this around? Both fighters are breathing heavily. Almeida takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Coleman shoots in looking for a takedown. Almeida tries to sprawl out of it but Coleman keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Almeida manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Ricardo Almeida has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Reggie Coleman is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Coleman fails with the takedown and Almeida counters with a nice body kick.
And that's the end of the fight! Reggie Coleman showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Coleman, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
