Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ahmed Ahmed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Laureatas Gerulis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ahmed Ahmed has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ahmed misses with a takedown attempt
and Gerulis counters with a shoot takedown. Ahmed fights it but they end up in guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Gerulis avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Gerulis wanted to stand there but Ahmed had control of the position.
Gerulis is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Ahmed is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Ahmed looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Ahmed working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gerulis doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gerulis manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gerulis looking to sit in guard and control but Ahmed gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Ahmed drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ahmed jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Gerulis has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Ahmed has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Ahmed wants to control from the top but Gerulis keeps moving.
Gerulis wants to get back to his feet but Ahmed is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Ahmed stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gerulis swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gerulis wants to improve his position but instead Ahmed has moved into half guard.

Ahmed is working for a submission of some sort.
Gerulis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ahmed. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ahmed is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Gerulis sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Ahmed darts in looking for a takedown but Gerulis gets double underhooks and turns Ahmed into the cage.
Gerulis jumps guard and drags Ahmed to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Ahmed swings around for an armbar but Gerulis sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Ahmed's guard.

Ahmed utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Ahmed manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gerulis manages to get himself to full guard.

Ahmed drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gerulis manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ahmed has Gerulis in his guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Gerulis attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ahmed is defended easily by Gerulis.
Gerulis drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Gerulis decides to stand back up. Gerulis steps back and let's Ahmed get back to his feet.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ahmed Ahmed. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ahmed tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gerulis sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ahmed somewhat.
Laureatas Gerulis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Gerulis counters by clinching up.

Ahmed misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Gerulis.
Ahmed misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Gerulis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ahmed has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Ahmed gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Gerulis takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
We're going to have a standup here because Ahmed Ahmed wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Ahmed fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gerulis avoids it really well and circles away.

Ahmed pulls Gerulis in close to his closed guard and prevents Gerulis from doing any damage or advancing position.
Ahmed is trying to control the position but Gerulis postures up.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Ahmed Ahmed has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

and Gerulis counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Ahmed seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Gerulis loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Gerulis wants to get up but he can't break Ahmed's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Ahmed pulls Gerulis in close to prevent any damage.
Ahmed is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Gerulis must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ahmed Ahmed.
Ahmed shoots in for a takedown but Gerulis shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Laureatas Gerulis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
