The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopez scores with a decent looking hook.
Kill moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Kill on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Lopez lands a lovely overhand right.
Lopez connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Lopez lands a really nice looking cross but Kill seems unphased.

Lopez lands a nice hook to Kill's body. Kill takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Lopez lands with a hook. Kill tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lopez.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Lopez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Lopez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kill gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Kill is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Kill drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kill jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kill postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Lopez is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kill, into his guard.
