Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Connie Daniels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jinchao Zhang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jinchao Zhang will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Lou da Vinci and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zhang shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Zhang throws a leg kick
and Daniels counters by clinching up.
Zhang is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Zhang is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Daniels pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Zhang gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Daniels.
Daniels content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Zhang ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Zhang no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Zhang working a defensive guard but Daniels passes into half guard.
Zhang wants to get back to full guard.
Zhang slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Zhang has an active guard here but Daniels has managed to pass into half guard.

Daniels shoots in looking for a takedown. Zhang tries to sprawl out of it but Daniels keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Zhang manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Zhang scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Zhang dives in for a single leg takedown but Daniels sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Connie Daniels has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jinchao Zhang.

Daniels jumps guard and drags Zhang to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Zhang wants to control from the top but Daniels keeps moving.
Daniels might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Daniels is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Jinchao Zhang hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

and Daniels counters with a shoot takedown. Zhang fights it but they end up in guard.

Daniels loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Daniels accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Zhang wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Daniels is now in half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Zhang has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Daniels is working away from the top position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jinchao Zhang will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Zhang scores with a one two! Daniels had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Zhang misses with a head kick.
Zhang lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Zhang fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Zhang gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Daniels missing with knees to the body.
Zhang wants to take the fight to the mat but Daniels manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Daniels changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Zhang fights it off and pushes away nicely.
This has been an exciting period of action!

and Daniels counters with a body kick that stops Zhang in his tracks momentarily.

Zhang pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Zhang feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Danielss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Daniels circles away from the clinch attempt.
Zhang is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Zhang fails with a takedown attempt.
Connie Daniels has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jinchao Zhang.
Zhang is breathing heavily.
Zhang doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Daniels counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Zhang!
Zhang is trying to get back to half guard.
Zhang looks to move to half guard but instead Daniels has passed into mount! Damn!

Zhang is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zhang can't escape the position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Daniels postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Zhang looks a forlorn figure.
Daniels is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Zhang has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Zhang is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
BOOM! Daniels connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Zhang regains half guard.
Zhang trying to get back to full guard but Daniels takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Zhang gets back to half guard.
Zhang is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Zhang has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Daniels is working away from the top position though.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Daniels trying to control the action but Zhang is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jinchao Zhang showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Zhang misses with a takedown attempt - Daniels sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Zhang has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Daniels can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Zhang is looking for a triangle here but Daniels uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Zhang holds on to Daniels around his waist, trying desperately to prevent any attacks.
Daniels can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Zhang is looking to escape.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Connie Daniels.
I think Zhang has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
