Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Adolf Ellenberger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Russ Rutger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ellenberger kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Soldier. Rutger has chosen Hall & Oates - Out of Touch as his entrance music. Russ Rutger has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Adolf Ellenberger's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Adolf Ellenberger! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
34 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Russ Rutger! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Andrew Berry and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ellenberger lets loose with a powerful body kick. Rutger will feel that in the morning. Rutger looks to land a body kick but Ellenberger moved away. Rutger takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Ellenberger is looking to clinch. Rutger throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Rutger takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Ellenberger tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rutger swats him away and circles back towards the center. Ellenberger throws a leg kick which misses Rutger's front leg but catches the back leg as Rutger tries to avoid it. Rutger swings away with a leg kick that misses. Rutger misses with a right hand and Ellenberger counters with a nice uppercut. Ellenberger checks the leg kick nicely there.
Rutger tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ellenberger defends well and Rutger ends up having to push Ellenberger into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A head punch on the inside from Ellenberger fails to land. Ellenberger tries to land a knee to the head but Rutger blocks with his arms.

That's one minute gone in the round. Rutger has had enough of the clinch but Ellenberger keeps him there for the moment. Rutger avoids a wild elbow strike from Ellenberger. Ellenberger misses with a hook. A nice inside leg kick there by Ellenberger. That's going to slow Rutger down. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Ellenberger. Rutger throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Ellenberger fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Ellenberger fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Ellenberger tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Rutger just misses with a punch to the body.
Rutger checks the leg kick. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Rutger has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ellenberger throws a body punch but Rutger moves out of range. Adolf Ellenberger is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Ellenberger tries to land a front kick but Rutger steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Rutger avoids the head kick by Ellenberger.
A head kick by Ellenberger misses and Rutger counters with a nice double leg into guard. This has been an exciting period of action! We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Ellenberger looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rutger is looking to work some ground and pound but Ellenberger has wrist control. Rutger stands up over Ellenberger, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Ellenberger avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Rutger in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Rutger cracks Ellenberger with a solid left hand. Rutger throwing strikes but missing. Rutger is looking to work some ground and pound but Ellenberger has wrist control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rutger stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ellenberger swivels though and keeps the full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ellenberger has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rutger can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Rutger throws a strike but Ellenberger rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Ellenberger throws a strike but Rutger rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Rutger throws an elbow that misses. Ellenberger uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Rutger's guard. Nice move by Ellenberger! Rutger has an active guard here but Ellenberger has managed to pass into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rutger moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Ellenberger trying to control the position from guard on top but Rutger is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ellenberger controls from within his opponent's guard. Rutger is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Rutger wants to control the position but Ellenberger says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Adolf Ellenberger will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Rutger lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Rutger needs to keep his hands up - Ellenberger had a free shot at his head there. Rutger connects with a right hand. Ellenberger shakes it off.
It looks like Adolf Ellenberger has been cut. Rutger connects with a body shot. Rutger scores with a takedown into Ellenberger's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rutger makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Ellenberger utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Ellenberger is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Ellenberger has control of Rutger's left arm, preventing Rutger from doing any damage. Rutger throws a strike but Ellenberger rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Ellenberger will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ellenberger trying to control but Rutger is working from the bottom. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Rutger lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Ellenberger! Ellenberger tries to lock up and control but Rutger gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Rutger is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Ellenberger has managed to escape the submission attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ellenberger is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Ellenberger is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rutger postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Ellenberger out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Rutger goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!
