Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jack Merridew!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Homer Simpson!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Sandra Marshall and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simpson moves in looking to clinch but Merridew pushes him off.
Simpson shoots in for a double leg but Merridew sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Simpson on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Merridew just misses with a punch to the body.
Simpson tries for a takedown but Merridew sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Merridew lands the left hand.
Simpson fails with a takedown attempt.
Jack Merridew has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Homer Simpson.

A big right from Merridew misses.
Simpson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Merridew as he jumps to the side.
Simpson has Merridew up against the cage in a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Simpson jumps guard but Merridew stands there with Simpson around his waist. Simpson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
A nice right hand lands inside from Merridew.
Merridew definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Simpson goes for a takedown attempt but Merridew pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Merridew lands a body shot.
Merridew avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Merridew swings for the body but Simpson moves out of range.
Simpson closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Merridew's guard.
Merridew on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Merridew tries to get out of the position.
Simpson stands and throws Merridew's legs to the side, diving into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Simpson has an Americana. Merridew didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Simpson is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Simpson hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
