Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dutch Schaeffer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcello Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schaeffer's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Long Tall Sally. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dutch Schaeffer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 15 - 0, fighting out of London, Marcello Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Saam Ante and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez throws a sloppy head kick

and Schaeffer counters by clinching up.
Sanchez is looking for a takedown.

Sanchez passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.

Sanchez decides to return to a standing position.
Schaeffer lands the left hand.

Schaeffer throws a nice looking combination but Sanchez bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Schaeffer keeps the fight on the outside.

Schaeffer tries to keep at a distance but Sanchez has taken the fight into the clinch.
Sanchez tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Schaeffer smiles and moves away.
Schaeffer looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Schaeffer gets tackled into the cage by Sanchez. Sanchez maintains the clinch.
Sanchez tries to pull guard but Schaeffer forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Dutch Schaeffer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcello Sanchez.
Sanchez has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Schaeffer avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sanchez avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Schaeffer escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sanchez gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

A nice leg kick lands there from Schaeffer.

Sanchez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Schaeffer manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Sanchez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Schaeffer is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Schaeffer wants to control from the top but Sanchez keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Dutch Schaeffer.
Sanchez tries to close the distance and clinch but Schaeffer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Marcello Sanchez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Schaeffer takes the fight into the clinch.

Sanchez is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Schaeffer can't fight it off and eventually Sanchez manages to take the fight to the floor. Schaeffer looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Schaeffer lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Sanchez!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Dutch Schaeffer will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Sanchez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Schaeffer paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Schaeffer, as that shot connected.


It looks like Marcello Sanchez has been cut.
Sloppy strikes from Sanchez. Those never looked like landing.

Sanchez drops down looking for an ankle pick but Schaeffer pulls his leg out and moves away.
Dutch Schaeffer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcello Sanchez.

Sanchez closes the distance but Schaeffer moves to the side
and Schaeffer counters with a left to the body.

Dutch Schaeffer overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Schaeffer drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Schaeffer jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Schaeffer drops back looking for a leg! Sanchez is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sanchez manages to kick Schaeffer off! Schaeffer jumps back into Sanchez's guard.
Sanchez is looking to stand up but Schaeffer isn't so interested in that idea.

and Schaeffer counters with a three punch combo that has Sanchez backing up. Sanchez nods at Schaeffer to acknowledge the strikes.
Schaeffer moves in looking to clinch but Sanchez pushes him off.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dutch Schaeffer will probably get the nod.

Schaeffer shoots in looking for a takedown. Sanchez tries to sprawl out of it but Schaeffer keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sanchez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Schaeffer swats away the attempt to clinch by Sanchez.

Sanchez has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Schaeffer uses from the top position.

Sanchez decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Schaeffer, up you get!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sanchez takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Sanchez wants to clinch up but Schaeffer keeps it at a distance.
Horrible takedown by Schaeffer or perhaps it was just good defense by Sanchez which made him look bad.

Schaeffer is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sanchez is just riding it out for now. Schaeffer eventually gives up the hold.
Sanchez is not content to let Schaeffer control the position.

Schaeffer thows a huge punch but Sanchez dodges it nicely.
Dutch Schaeffer is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Sanchez has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Schaeffer stops Sanchez from getting back to his feet.

Sanchez tries to kick Schaeffer off but Schaeffer keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Schaeffer wants to free his trapped foot but Sanchez is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Schaeffer takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Sanchez looks like he's trying to stand up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Dutch Schaeffer has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Schaeffer closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Sanchez's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

I would just about give that final round to Marcello Sanchez.
