Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Monty Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Sberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Carl Sberg!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Atkins and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns throws a nice looking combination but Sberg bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Burns closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sberg to the mat! Sberg manages to get full guard.
Burns landing with the ground and pound.
Sberg throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Burns has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Burns throws a big right hand that misses.
Burns looking to sit in guard and control but Sberg gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Burns throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

and Sberg counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Sberg.
Burns wants a takedown but no success here.
Sberg drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Burns gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Burns wants to get back to striking at distance but Sberg won't allow it.

Sberg gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Burns.
Come on Sberg - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Burns drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Sberg gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Burns jumps guard.
Sberg trying to control the position from guard on top but Burns is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Burns is breathing heavily.
Burns on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Burns tries to get out of the position.
Burns is trying to keep Sberg in close.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Burns not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Sberg is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Burns keeping moving, preventing Sberg from controlling successfully.
Sberg cracks Burns with a solid left hand.
Sberg trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carl Sberg dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Sberg shoots in for a double leg but Burns sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

and Burns counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Burns is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Sberg is trying to control but can't.
Sberg is trying to get back to full guard.

Sberg is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Burns pulls his head out easily.
Burns is trying to control the action in half guard but Sberg is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Sberg tries for a takedown but Burns circles away easily
and Burns counters with a slapping leg kick.
Monty Burns has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carl Sberg.
Sberg shoots and misses
and Burns counters with a leg kick.
Burns throws a right and a left that Sberg avoids nicely.
Burns misses with a jab, cross combination.

Burns looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Sberg!
Sberg manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Burns is thwarting Sberg's attempts to control the position.

Sberg moves into full guard.
Burns wants to pass the guard but Sberg is keeping the position.
Burns postures up.

Sberg looking for a guillotine here but Burns defends easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Burns postures up.
Burns throwing strikes but missing.
Sberg trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Burns throws a strike but Sberg rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Monty Burns dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Burns is looking to score with low kicks.

Burns takes the fight into the clinch.
Sberg tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Burns smiles and moves away.

so Burns counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Sberg looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Sberg not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Sberg bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Burns's guard.
Sberg trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Sberg wants to control from the top but Burns keeps moving.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Burns is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Burns thows a huge punch but Sberg dodges it nicely.

Sberg actively working from the bottom here.
Burns stops Sberg from getting back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Burns prevents Sberg from improving his position.
Burns is keen to just control but Sberg is a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sberg is pressing down on Burns's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Burns stopping the sweep attempt from Sberg.
Burns in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Sberg clinches up with Burns and pushes him back against the cage.
Sberg lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Sberg wants a takedown.
Monty Burns has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carl Sberg.

Burns has Sberg pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Burns pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Sberg tumbling to the mat - Burns dives into Sberg's guard.

Sberg looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Burns is defending well. Sberg quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Burns has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Sberg celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
