Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rick Ross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marshall Mathers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ross comes to the cage accompanied by Show me how to live. The crowd seem to be enjoying Mathers's choice of entrance music: Superman. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ross lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Mathers has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Ross.

Ross tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Mathers is able to avoid easily.

Ross will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Mathers's coach down at Philly Dawgz MMA - PIT Inc was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Mathers's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Mathers lunges at Ross with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Ross's hand.

Mathers connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Ross momentarily.
Ross looks to land a left hand but Mathers moved out of range nicely.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Mathers checks a leg kick.

Ross takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Mathers tries to land a front kick but Ross steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

and Mathers cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Mathers misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mathers gets tackled into the cage by Ross. Ross maintains the clinch.

Mathers is trying to push Ross away but Ross has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Mathers shoots in looking for a takedown. Ross tries to sprawl out of it but Mathers keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ross manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That was a close second round but I would say that Rick Ross will probably get the nod.
