The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Error moves out of range of the body kick. Palmer really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Palmer throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Error closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Palmer's guard. Palmer is working an open guard so Error takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Good leg kick by Palmer there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Palmer stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Error throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Palmer was covering up waiting for the punch and Error finishes the takedown easily into guard. Palmer is trying to control the position but Error postures up. Error not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Palmer controls Error momentarily but Error frees himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Error controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Error on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. A big right from Palmer misses. Palmer feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Error's calf. Palmer tries to close the distance and clinch up but Error swats him away and circles back towards the center. Error swats away the attempt to clinch by Palmer. Error feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Error controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Error slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Error in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Palmer is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Neemias Error! A less than humble Neemias Error misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
