Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ruaridh Calhoun!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lazar DeCola!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Peter Branson and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Calhoun tries a head kick but it misses.

Calhoun clinches up against the cage.

Calhoun turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
DeCola throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
DeCola is trying to escape the position but Calhoun is controlling the position.
DeCola is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
DeCola is looking to regain half guard here but Calhoun keeps moving and retains side control.

Calhoun is pushing down on DeCola's leg trying to pass to half guard. DeCola is fighting to maintain full guard but Calhoun has managed to sneak the leg through.

Still in half guard, Calhoun seems content to control.

DeCola is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Calhoun pulls his head out easily.
DeCola is looking for a sweep. Calhoun is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Calhoun looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks DeCola with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Calhoun seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Calhoun throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ruaridh Calhoun.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
DeCola is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
DeCola takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
DeCola tries to bench press Calhoun off him but Calhoun keeps the position.

DeCola gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Calhoun to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Calhoun is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Calhoun tries to free his leg and advance position but DeCola is retaining full guard.

Calhoun stands up and waves to DeCola to follow him.
Calhoun shoots in looking for a takedown but DeCola manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Calhoun's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Ruaridh Calhoun seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Calhoun has hold of one of DeCola's legs. DeCola is fighting the takedown attempt but Calhoun gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Calhoun got a little sloppy there for a moment and DeCola has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Calhoun has managed to get both his arms back between DeCola's legs - danger averted.

DeCola tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Calhoun wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Ruaridh Calhoun overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

DeCola ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Calhoun moves away.
Calhoun tries for a takedown but DeCola sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

DeCola misses with a low kick.
Calhoun misses with a wild combination.
Lazar DeCola is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Calhoun goes for a double leg but DeCola avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as DeCola continues to drive forward.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ruaridh Calhoun. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Calhoun throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
DeCola tries to land a knee to the head but Calhoun blocks with his arms.

DeCola's coach down at Evil Emp-HEAD HUNTERS FIGHTCLUB 201pwELITE4CHEAP was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on DeCola's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

DeCola wants to pass the guard but Calhoun is keeping the position.
Calhoun on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Calhoun tries to get out of the position.

Calhoun wants to sweep but no luck.
DeCola throws a big right hand that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Calhoun knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for DeCola on the ground.

DeCola drops back, looking for a kneebar! Calhoun looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Calhoun looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Calhoun!
DeCola takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
DeCola is trying to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ruaridh Calhoun dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Calhoun gets a clinch.

Calhoun escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
DeCola misses with a low kick.
Calhoun tries for a takedown but DeCola sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Calhoun keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from DeCola.

Calhoun throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. DeCola tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Calhoun is in DeCola's guard.

Calhoun decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on DeCola, up you get!

Calhoun manages to get an easy takedown there - catching DeCola on his heels. He'll look to pass DeCola's guard now, I'm sure.
DeCola can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Calhoun controls the pace.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

DeCola takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

DeCola has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Calhoun should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, DeCola has tightened it up now! Calhoun should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
