Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Douglas Ratliff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Baudelio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Douglas Ratliff! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jose Baudelio! The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Hugh Johnson and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Baudelio looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Baudelio has eaten all the pies! Baudelio wants to take a breather but Ratliff is having none of it. Ratliff knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Baudelio on the ground. Baudelio thows a huge punch but Ratliff dodges it nicely.
Ratliff keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Baudelio is trying to control. Ratliff wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Baudelio uses his free foot to push down on Ratliff's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Ratliff. Ratliff is squirming around, avoiding Baudelio's attempts to control the action. Baudelio throws some wild stikes that Ratliff manages to avoid easily.
Ratliff is desperately trying to improve his position but Baudelio has a good base and remains in mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ratliff is working hard here to advance position. Baudelio pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Baudelio trying to control but he's not successful this time. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ratliff tries to hold on but Baudelio pushes him away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Poor strikes thrown by Baudelio there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Baudelio has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Baudelio unloads with some shots from mount but Ratliff bucks and avoids them well.

Baudelio throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Baudelio wants to get back to his feet but Ratliff is holding on tight.
Ratliff wants to control but Baudelio is having none of it. This has been an exciting period of action! Baudelio throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Baudelio unloads with some shots from mount but Ratliff bucks and avoids them well.

Baudelio can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ratliff is looking to escape. Ratliff is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Baudelio punching from mount but Ratliff doing a good job of avoiding damage. Baudelio throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Ratliff is working to get back to half guard.
Baudelio misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Baudelio sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Baudelio prevents Ratliff from getting the reversal. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Poor strikes thrown by Baudelio there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

He's in guard on the top - nicely done! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jose Baudelio dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Ratliff gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Baudelio stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ratliff swivels though and keeps the full guard. Baudelio wants to control from the top but Ratliff keeps moving. Baudelio might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ratliff haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jose Baudelio. Baudelio drives through and clinches with Ratliff against the cage.
Ratliff is fighting off a takedown attempt but Baudelio is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Ratliff to the mat. Ratliff regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Ratliff has his hands on Baudelio's head, controlling the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ratliff wants to sweep here but Baudelio controlling him for the moment. Baudelio wants to pass the guard but Ratliff is keeping the position. Ratliff is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Baudelio trying to control but Ratliff is working from the bottom.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jose Baudelio wasn't active enough on the ground. Baudelio throws a sloppy head kick and Ratliff moves out of range easily. Baudelio fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ratliff sprawls well initially but Baudelio persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ratliff is trying to control but can't.
Ratliff really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Ratliff with the active half guard here but Baudelio passes nicely into side control. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Baudelio has hold of Ratliff's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Ratliff seems comfortable defending it but Baudelio has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Ratliff is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Ratliff is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Baudelio couldn't care less - he's delighted!
