Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Darron Carlson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jimmy Hendricks! The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Donatello Bradman and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hendricks pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Carlson really is a fat lump. Hendricks fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Carlson manages to avoid it. Hendricks throws a head kick that misses. Hendricks moves into the clinch. Hendricks turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Hendricks manages to end up in side control. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Carlson tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Hendricks lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Darron Carlson's cut is getting worse. Carlson is working to get back to half guard.
Carlson tries to lock up and control but Hendricks gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Hendricks has hold of Carlson's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Carlson manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carlson is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hendricks cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Carlson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Hendricks controlling his opponent. Hendricks landing strikes from the mount. BOOM! Hendricks connects with a massive shot to the dome!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Carlson is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Jimmy Hendricks has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Hendricks shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Carlson is trying to defend but Hendricks finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hendricks connects with a nice short shot to Carlson's temple. Hendricks passes to full mount! Hendricks controlling from the full mount.

Carlson wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Carlson wants to get back to his feet. Hendricks slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hendricks is looking for the choke from the back position but Carlson is controlling his hands well. This has been an exciting period of action! Hendricks really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Carlson. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A combination from Hendricks does no damage. Hendricks closes the distance and pushes Carlson back into the cage. Hendricks decides to pull guard. Hendricks bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Carlson's guard. Hendricks sitting in guard, not really doing much. Hendricks pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Carlson is keeping the position for now. Hendricks is pushing down on Carlson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Carlson is fighting to maintain full guard but Hendricks has managed to sneak the leg through.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Hendricks stalling. Hendricks's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Hendricks seems to be looking for submissions.
Carlson is trying to stand up here but Hendricks is controlling him well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hendricks controlling the pace. Hendricks wants to pass the guard but Carlson is defending well. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hendricks slows the pace down in half guard. Carlson is looking to escape.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jimmy Hendricks hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Carlson tries to keep at a distance but Hendricks has taken the fight into the clinch. Carlson tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Carlson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Hendricks has his hands on Carlson's head, controlling the position. Carlson throwing strikes from guard but Hendricks blocks nicely. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hendricks is trying to control the position from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jimmy Hendricks showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Darron Carlson's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Hendricks decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Carlson wants to stand back up but Hendricks manages to pass into side control.
Carlson prevents Hendricks from moving into mount. Hendricks has knee on belly and moves into mount. Hendricks goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Carlson turns into him and now he's in Hendricks's guard.
Carlson gets to his feet - Hendricks follows without any prompting.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carlson gets caught napping as Hendricks dives in and scores a takedown. Carlson manages to retain guard. Hendricks lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Hendricks controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Hendricks prevents Carlson from getting back to his feet. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Carlson controls Hendricks momentarily but Hendricks frees himself. Carlson working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Hendricks has passed into half guard!

Hendricks frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hendricks controlling the pace for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jimmy Hendricks was stalling too much, according to the referee. Hendricks scores with a takedown into Carlson's guard. Hendricks content to stall in guard here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Let's hope that Hendricks has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
And that's the end of the fight! Jimmy Hendricks comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Hendricks has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
