Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frank Nader! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Peter Bishop! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bishop shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Nader sprawls well. Nader wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bishop gets slowly back to his feet. Bishop misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Bishop moves in looking to clinch but Nader pushes him off. Bishop darts in and clinches Nader up against the cage. Bishop on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Nader blocks an uppercut.
Bishop jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Nader walks away with a smile on his face. Bishop gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Bishop closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Bishop jumps guard but Nader turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Frank Nader has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Bishop. Bishop jumps into guard, dragging Nader to the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bishop is working an open guard so Nader takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Bishop fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Bishop throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Nader counters into the clinch. Nicely done. This has been an exciting period of action! With the fighters up against the cage, Bishop throws an elbow but misses.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Bishop just misses with a elbow thrown towards Nader's brow. Bishop is trying to pull guard but Nader turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Nader looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Nader working hard to break the clinch. Bishop on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Nader ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Nader no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Nader preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Bishop trying to control but Nader is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bishop content to stall in guard here. Nader avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Bishop throwing strikes from guard but Nader blocks nicely. Bishop trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Bishop working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Nader keeping moving, preventing Bishop from controlling successfully. This has been an exciting period of action! We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Bishop wants to pass the guard but Nader is keeping the position. Bishop trying to control but Nader is working from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Peter Bishop. Nader fakes the leg kick and cracks Bishop in the body. Nader shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bishop as he jumps to the side. Bishop thuds his shin into the meat of Nader's side. Bishop throws the kick towards the body but Nader avoids it. Bishop throws a sloppy head kick and Nader moves out of range easily. Bishop looks winded! Bishop wants to clinch up but Nader keeps it at a distance. Peter Bishop seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nader scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Nader working away. Bishop is looking to reverse the position. Nader controlling from side mount. Nader tries to move into full mount but can't pass Bishop's legs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nader tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nader has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Nader fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bishop avoids it really well and circles away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

No luck for Nader with that takedown attempt. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Nader. Nader throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bishop's waist but Bishop gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nader off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Nader. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bishop throws a shot from downtown. Nader moves away and avoids it. Nader shoots in looking for a takedown. Bishop tries to sprawl out of it but Nader keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bishop manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Nader is looking to land body kicks. Nice shot lands for Bishop. Bishop moves into range and clinches up with Nader.

Nader tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Bishop avoids it. Nader's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Nader throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Nader looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bishop is fending him off so far but Nader persists. Nope, Bishop circles away and we're back to standing. Bishop tries to clinch up but Nader circles away and keeps his distance. Nader drives through and clinches with Bishop against the cage.

Great action here. Bishop postures up in Nader's guard and throws a big left but Nader blocks it. Bishop with a flurry of punches that miss. Bishop looking to pass the guard. Bishop throws a big right hand that misses. Bishop wants to pass the guard but Nader is keeping the position. Nader avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nader keeping moving, preventing Bishop from controlling successfully. Nader wants to get back to his feet but Bishop is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Bishop postures up.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Nader dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Bishop tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nader swats him away and circles back towards the center. Nader shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Bishop looks for a takedown but Nader sprawls well. Nader steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Bishop.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from Bishop. No joy for Nader on that attempt. Bishop pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Nader blocks a jab. Bishop throws a poor cross that misses
and Nader finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Bishop is breathing heavily. Nader has Bishop up against the cage in a clinch.
Bishop trying to control the position but instead, Nader has worked for underhooks and has pushed Bishop into the cage. Bishop has had enough of the clinch but Nader keeps him there for the moment. Nader taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nader has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Nader wants to break the clinch but can't.
Nader is trying to push Bishop away but Bishop has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Frank Nader will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
A kick lands to the mid section there for Bishop. Nader keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Bishop. Bishop stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bishop wants it to stay on the feet. Bishop scores with a kick to the midsection. Bishop plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Bishop scores with a crisp jab that stopped Nader in his tracks. Bishop throws the kick towards the body but Nader avoids it. Nader darts in and clinches Bishop up against the cage. Bishop misses with a knee strike.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bishop tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Nader smiles and moves away.

That's one minute gone in the round. A head kick by Bishop misses and Nader counters with a nice body shot. Bishop takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Nader gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Nader throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Bishops head. Nader breaks the clinch.
Bishop wants to clinch up but Nader keeps it at a distance. Nader moves out of range of the body kick from Bishop.
Nader shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Bishop throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Nader darts in and clinches Bishop up against the cage. Nader dodges an elbow strike from Bishop.
Frank Nader has scored more points in the clinch so far. Bishop throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Naders head. Bishop misses with a knee strike.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Nader working Bishop over with knees to the body. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nader breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Nader has taken the fight to the clinch.

Nader clinches up with Bishop and pushes him back against the cage. Nader tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Bishop just stands there and leans against the cage. Nader pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Bishop misses with a hook. Nader fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bishop sprawls well initially but Nader persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Nader is working for a kimura but Bishop is defending it quite comfortably.
Bishop has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Nader is looking to advance position but Bishop won't allow it.

Nader is looking to take a break and control but Bishop is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Nader is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bishop is just riding it out for now. Nader eventually gives up the hold. Nader wants to pass to mount but Bishop is defending the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bishop is looking to escape. Bishop is refusing to be controlled, as Nader sits in half guard.
We're going to have a standup here because Frank Nader wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Nader closes the distance and clinches up with Bishop, looking for a takedown. Nader pushes Bishop against the cage but Bishop circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Bishop lands a high kick!
Nader moves into the clinch. Bishop lands an elbow inside. Nader jumps guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Nader pushes Bishop off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Nader blocks a head kick by Bishop.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Frank Nader. I think Nader has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
