Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dennis Pegeant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dennis Pegeant! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brian Johnson! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Leandro Rodrigues and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Pegeant shoots in looking for a takedown. Johnson tries to sprawl out of it but Pegeant keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Johnson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Pegeant fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dennis Pegeant. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pegeant misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Pegeant tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Johnson paws at him with a jab and circles away. Pegeant shoots in looking for a takedown. Johnson tries to sprawl out of it but Pegeant keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Johnson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Pegeant dives in and grabs Johnson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Johnson pushes down on Pegeant's head and hops out. Pegeant really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pegeant with a lazy takedown attempt and Johnson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Johnson. Johnson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Pegeant pulls him back up using the underhooks. Johnson wants a takedown but no success here.
Pegeant turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Pegeant will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Pegeant trying to control the position but Johnson is working away. Pegeant is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Johnson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Johnson manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Johnson has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pegeant controlling the action here. Johnson is staying active underneath Pegeant, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Johnson looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Pegeant slows the pace down in half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Dennis Pegeant wasn't doing enough on the ground. Pegeant darts in looking for a takedown but Johnson gets double underhooks and turns Pegeant into the cage. Pegeant working hard to break the clinch. Johnson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Pegeant is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Johnson tries to pull guard but Pegeant forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Johnson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Johnson keeps the fight on the outside. Pegeant shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Johnson as he avoids it easily. Pegeant bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pegeant has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Johnson! Pegeant looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Pegeant controlling from mount. Pegeant seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Johnson for as long as he can get away with. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Johnson is trying desperately to improve position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnson dives in and grabs Pegeant's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pegeant pushes down on Johnson's head and hops out. Johnson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Pegeant throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Pegeant fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dennis Pegeant. That's going to take a lot out of him. Johnson shoots in looking for a takedown but Pegeant manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Johnson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. That's better than Pegeant was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pegeant. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Pegeant tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Johnson is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Pegeant off and has taken his back! Johnson throws a series of strikes and Pegeant wriggles onto his back, so he's now mounted. He's in real trouble here. Johnson punishing his opponent with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pegeant tries to hold on but Johnson postures up. Johnson lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Johnson landing strikes from the mount. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Pegeant wants to hold on but Johnson pushes him away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pegeant is working to get back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson lands with some strikes. Johnson has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Pegeant's face.
Pegeant is rocked! Johnson breaks from Pegeant's wrist control and lands an elbow. Oh Pegeant is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Pegeant regains half guard. Pegeant seems to have got his legs back now. Pegeant trying to control but Johnson postures up.
Dennis Pegeant overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Pegeant avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Johnson. Johnson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Pegeant moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Johnson is looking to work some ground and pound but Pegeant has wrist control.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Johnson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Johnson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Pegeant's head. Pegeant bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Johnson's guard. Pegeant content to stall in guard here. Johnson keeping moving, preventing Pegeant from controlling successfully. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Johnson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pegeant defends it easily. Pegeant controls from within his opponent's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brian Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Pegeant gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Johnson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Johnson. Johnson is looking to work some ground and pound but Pegeant has wrist control. Pegeant trying to control the position.
Johnson throws a big elbow that misses. Pegeant pulls Johnson in to control the position. Pegeant trying to control the position.
Pegeant seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Dennis Pegeant. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Pegeant. Pegeant shoots in but Johnson avoids the takedown attempt easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dennis Pegeant. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson gets caught napping as Pegeant dives in and scores a takedown. Johnson manages to retain guard. Johnson working for a triangle but Pegeant defends it easily.
Johnson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Johnson keeping moving, preventing Pegeant from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson looking for a guillotine here but Pegeant defends easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson tries to improve position but can't. Johnson tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Pegeant presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Johnson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Johnson looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Pegeant's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Johnson can't escape the position.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dennis Pegeant. I think Pegeant has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
