Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tetsuya Tate! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marc Lewis Dillinger! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dillinger closes the distance and pushes Tate back into the cage. Dillinger can't find room to land a body shot as Tate controls the action.
Dillinger is looking to break free of the clinch but Tate has double underhooks. Dillinger breaks the clinch.
Tate shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Tate was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Tate really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Tate looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Dillinger wants to get back to his feet. Tate tries to move into full mount but can't pass Dillinger's legs. Tate misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Tate tries for a kimura. That's one minute gone in the round. Tate decides to stand back up. Tate tries to clinch up. Dillinger shoots for a takedown but Tate saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Tate connects with a solid leg kick. Tate shoots in and drives through. Dillinger sprawls well. Dillinger rushes Tate and presses him up against the cage. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Tate manages to end up in side control. Tate thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Check out the look on Tate's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Dillinger tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Dillinger has given up his back here. Will Tate look for the submission or keep pounding away?
