Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dave Makeshian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rikki Rudd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Makeshian might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Champ Is Here. Rikki Rudd has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Dave Makeshian's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rudd instigates a clinch.

Rudd has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Makeshian uses from the top position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That was a close round but I would say that Dave Makeshian will probably get the nod.
That's time! Makeshian's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Rudd shoots in for a double leg but Makeshian sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Makeshian goes for a takedown attempt but Rudd pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Rikki Rudd seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rudd rushes Makeshian and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Makeshian pushes off an throws an elbow but Rudd leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Rudd tries to pull guard but Makeshian holds him up against the cage and eventually Rudd drops back down to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rudd has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Makeshian avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Dave Makeshian has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rikki Rudd.
