The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva fails with an attempt to clinch.
Lopez keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Silva looks to clinch
and Lopez counters with a nice uppercut.
Silva misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Silva takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Nice defenses there by Silva.
Lopez throws a shot from downtown. Silva moves away and avoids it.
Lopez throws a leg kick but Silva checks it.
Silva has been working on his balance at Soco na mãe - Stand Up Striking, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Lopez.

Lopez pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Silva back to the cage. Lopez follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Silva is rocked!
It looks like Ayrton Silva has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Silva slips under a jab.
Silva ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Silva darts in looking for a takedown but Lopez gets double underhooks and turns Silva into the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ayrton Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Silva seems to have got his legs back now.
Silva is trying to pull guard but Lopez has him pressed against the cage.

Silva jumps guard but Lopez stands there with Silva around his waist. Silva gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Lopez can't find room to land a body shot as Silva controls the action.

Lopez connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Silva's hands.

Silva could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Lopez pivots, looking for a leg kick but Silva is out of range and Lopez settles back down.
Lopez jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Silva tries to close the distance and clinch but Lopez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
The fighters circling - Lopez throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Silva throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Lopez connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Lopez bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Silva's head backwards.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lopez lands a hook that stumbles Silva back into the cage. Lopez follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Silva to the canvas! Lopez pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Silva has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
