Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Brian Snapp! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bob Builder! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Paul Gruel and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Builder misses with the combination.
Builder swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Builder throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Snapp works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
It looks like Bob Builder has been cut. Snapp tries to score with a low kick but Builder moves his leg out of the way. Builder throws a series of punches but Snapp moves out of range. Snapp tries for a takedown but Builder sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Builder misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Snapp fails with a takedown attempt. Snapp lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Builder circles away quickly and effectively. Builder fails with an attempt to clinch.
Builder jabs Snapp right on the nose. Snapp blinks but takes it well. This has been an exciting period of action! Snapp clinches. Snapp breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Snapp works over Builder's head and body with a nice combination.
That's one minute gone in the round. Builder fails with a takedown attempt. Snapp fails to land with a series of punches.
Snapp could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Builder throws a lazy right hand but Snapp sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Builder wants to clinch. Snapp dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Builder looks winded! Snapp shoots in for a double leg but Builder sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brian Snapp. That's going to take a lot out of him. Builder tries to clinch but Snapp is having none of it. Snapp throws an off balance right hand
and Builder counters with a lovely shot to the body. Builder slips a jab and a cross from Snapp.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Builder. A punch combination from Builder misses. Builder tries to keep at a distance but Snapp has taken the fight into the clinch. Snapp lands with a right to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Snapp manages to break the clinch.
Builder throws a right and a left that both miss. Snapp lands a big right hook! Builder looks hurt but is still standing! Snapp lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Builder falls down and Snapp dives in with a huge hammer fist! Builder's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Snapp runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Brian Snapp!
