Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Inspectah Deck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johan Axelsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Deck's entrance music is Wu-tang Clan - Protect ya neck (The jump off). A fine choice. Axelsson comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Petter - Det går bra nu kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Inspectah Deck!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Johan Axelsson!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, David Schapiro and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deck takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Deck walks into a jab.
A shot to the body from Deck misses

and Axelsson counters with a shoot takedown. Deck fights it but they end up in guard.
Axelsson trying to control but Deck is working from the bottom.

Axelsson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Deck haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

A looping hook to the body misses from Deck. Axelsson does a little dance to reset his feet.
The fighters circling - Deck throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
We've been hearing reports that Deck has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Deck throws a leg kick but Axelsson sees it coming and moves out of range.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Deck.
Axelsson thuds a left hand into Deck's body.
No joy there for Deck, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Axelsson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Deck counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Deck stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Deck slips a jab and a cross from Axelsson.
Deck misses with a wild body shot.
Axelsson moves out of range of the body kick.
Deck is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Deck just misses with a punch to the body.

Deck looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Deck will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Deck lands with a thumping leg kick.
Deck misses with a low kick.
A nice leg kick lands there from Deck.
Deck throws a leg kick but Axelsson sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Deck takes a swing at Axelsson's ribcage but misses.
Deck throws a jab but it's blocked by Axelsson.

Inspectah Deck is winning the standup battle so far.
Axelsson on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
A punch lands to the side of Deck 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Deck misses with a shot to the body
and Axelsson counters with a three punch combo that has Deck backing up. Deck nods at Axelsson to acknowledge the strikes.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Axelsson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Axelsson tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Deck struggling a bit here.
Deck is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Axelsson's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Deck trying to hold on to Axelsson's head to control him but Axelsson postures up.

Axelsson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Deck swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Axelsson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Deck pinned against the cage. Deck gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
A jab from Deck finds it's way through Axelsson's defenses.
Deck tries a head kick but it misses.
Deck throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Deck uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.


That has opened up Johan Axelsson's cut even more.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Deck moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Axelsson lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Axelsson goes for a double leg but Deck avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Deck continues to drive forward.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Axelsson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Deck sees it coming and defends easily.

Axelsson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Deck gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Deck wants to control from the top but Axelsson keeps moving.

Axelsson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Deck defends it easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Axelsson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Deck defends well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Deck is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Axelsson has his foot on Deck's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Deck works his way back into a safe position though.

And that's the end of the fight!
Inspectah Deck showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Deck has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
