Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hyun Tae Kang! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sergio Dei Porti! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dei Porti keeps the fight on the outside. Kang wants to clinch up but Dei Porti keeps it at a distance. Dei Porti shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kang sprawls well. Kang wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dei Porti gets slowly back to his feet. Kang doesn't manage to clinch there - Dei Porti circles away.
Kang tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Dei Porti closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Kang is trying to improve his position. Dei Porti is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kang has escaped the position, nice work there. Kang can't do much from the bottom here. Dei Porti controlling from side mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dei Porti sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Kang is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Dei Porti tries to move into full mount but can't pass Kang's legs. The ground and pound from Dei Porti seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Dei Porti is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kang knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Dei Porti cracks Kang with an elbow. That is naaassty. Dei Porti advances nicely into full mount. Dei Porti has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kang wants to control but Dei Porti is having none of it. Dei Porti breaks from Kang's wrist control and lands an elbow. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kang tries to reverse the position but Dei Porti maintains control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dei Porti lands a nice shot to the head. Dei Porti looking to control but Kang is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Dei Porti putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Dei Porti swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
