Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Beniamin Szatan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Meup (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Beniamin Szatan has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Beniamin Szatan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Phil Meup! The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Dirk Anderson and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Szatan tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Meup manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Szatan with a poor takedown and Meup counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Meup. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Meup tries to stand but Szatan is controlling from the bottom. Szatan trying to keep a closed guard but Meup is proving a slippery customer.
Meup trying to stand up but can't free himself from Szatan's guard. Meup sitting in guard, not really doing much. Meup wants to pass the guard but Szatan is keeping the position. Meup showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Phil Meup. Meup scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
That's one minute gone in the round. Szatan is pushing Meup's head away, looking to escape. Meup manages to hold on to the position though. Meup tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Meup has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Meup wants to stand but Szatan is controlling his arm. Meup lands some shots froms side control. Meup tries to move to mount but Szatan blocks the move with his legs. Meup stands up and we're back to a striking position. Meup lands with a nice body punch. Meup clinches up against the cage. Meup leaning his opponent against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Szatan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Beniamin Szatan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Szatan misses with a takedown attempt - Meup sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Szatan will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Szatan fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Beniamin Szatan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Szatan is breathing heavily. Meup closes the distance and clinches. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Meup tries to land knees in the clinch but Szatan avoids the damage to the body. Meup turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Meup manages to end up in side control. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Szatan throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Szatan shoots in for a takedown but Meup shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Meup shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Szatan's guard. Szatan keeping full guard, as Meup tries to pass. Meup is looking to work some ground and pound but Szatan has wrist control. Meup wants to stand but Szatan has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Szatan is trying to keep Meup in close.
Meup controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Meup loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Meup working some strikes from top position. Meup controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Szatan wants to stand up but Meup is controlling him. Meup controls the pace of the fight for a moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Phil Meup hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Meup jabs Szatan right on the nose. Szatan blinks but takes it well. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Meup shoots in for a takedown and gets it. It looks like Meup is going to stand back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Meup shoots in and bounces Szatan off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Meup wants to stand but Szatan has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Meup with a nice head shot there. Szatan is trying to keep Meup in close.
Meup slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Phil Meup has got the better of the ground game so far. Meup tries to stand but Szatan is controlling his head.
That's one minute gone in the round. A lull in the action here as Meup stalls from top position. Sloppy strikes there by Meup. Szatan can't do much from the bottom here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Meup just content to control the position. Meup is trying to get an arm triangle but Szatan is defending well. Meup wants to stand but Szatan is controlling his arm. Meup is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Szatan is looking for a sweep. Meup trying to control the action but Szatan is working from the bottom. A lull in the action here as Meup stalls from top position. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Meup looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Szatan tries to control but Meup manages to take his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A bit of a pause in the action here. Meup controlling the positon. You can see the frustration on Szatan's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Szatan is working hard here to advance position. Meup has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Szatan's body.
Meup lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Meup.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Meup just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Szatan wants to get back to his feet. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Meup not allowing Szatan to control his hands. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Phil Meup showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Szatan with a lazy takedown attempt and Meup counters by clinching up. Meup wants the takedown. Szatan is fighting it off but Meup persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Szatan's guard against the cage. Szatan wants to stand but Meup is controlling the position. Meup has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Szatan is proving hard to escape from. Meup controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Meup wants to pass the guard but Szatan is keeping the position. Szatan looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Meup wanted to stand there but Szatan had control of the position. Meup is pushing down on Szatan's leg trying to pass to half guard. Szatan is fighting to maintain full guard but Meup has managed to sneak the leg through. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meup not landing any meaningful shots this time. Szatan keeps control of the position for the meantime. Meup tries to stand and escape but Szatan is controlling the position. Meup uses his free foot to push down on Szatan's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Szatan. Meup avoids the attempt from Szatan to control. Meup sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Szatan wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Meup has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Szatan. Szatan looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Szatan tries to escape the position.
Meup has been the more effective fighter overall so far. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Meup is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Szatan defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Szatan looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. What can Szatan do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Meup is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Szatan with him. Szatan is trying to defend but Meup has an arm under the chin now! Szatan grimaces and is forced to tap out!
