Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Foster Nolan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Long Duk Dong! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dong throws a right and a left that Nolan avoids nicely. Nolan defending well as Dong loads up on a big left hand. Nolan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Nolan tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Dong counters with a left to the body. Dong falls off balance throwing a combination
and Nolan counters by moving into the clinch. Dong manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Dong lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
It looks like Foster Nolan has been cut. Dong is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nolan working hard to break the clinch. Nolan is looking for a takedown. Dong will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Nolan up against the cage. Dong tries to break the clinch but Nolan is controlling the position. Nolan tries to pull guard but Dong won't allow it.
Nolan is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Dong gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Foster Nolan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Stalling in the clinch from Dong.
Dong digs a right hand underneath Nolan's ribcage. Nolan let out a lung full of air as it connected. Dong is defending well against a takedown attempt. A hook to the body from Dong.
Nolan tries to break free but Dong pushes him back against the cage. Nolan takes a shot to the head. Nolan is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Dong is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dong throws a big uppercut that drops Nolan! More strikes from Dong and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Nolan lies dazed against the cage as Dong celebrates with his cornermen!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Long Duk Dong!
