Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Renzoi Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dingus Datsik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Machida manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Datsik on his heels. He'll look to pass Datsik's guard now, I'm sure.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Machida decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Datsik, up you get!
Datsik throws a sloppy head kick and Machida moves out of range easily.

Datsik gets caught napping as Machida dives in and scores a takedown. Datsik manages to retain guard.

Datsik really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Machida. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Machida seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Datsik for as long as he can get away with.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Datsik can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Machida controls the pace.

Machida has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Datsik controls Machida momentarily but Machida frees himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Datsik tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Machida feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
