Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Anthony Pettis!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Santiago Holmes and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pettis gets a clinch.
Pettis putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Yuksel in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Pettis lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Yuksel backwards.
Pettis landing knees to the body.
Pettis lands a nice knee to the body.

Pettis breaks from the clinch.
Pettis rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Yuksel moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Pettis moves into the clinch successfully.
Pettis lands a right hand.
Pettis lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Yuksel or not.

A short left from Pettis.
Pettis crunches a lovely knee into Yuksel's ribcage.
Pettis lands a body punch in the clinch.

Pettis tries to land a front kick but Yuksel steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Pettis fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Yuksel, pushing him back against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pettis is struggling to control the position.
Pettis continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.

Pettis instigates a clinch.

Pettis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Pettis keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Yuksel tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Pettis rushes Yuksel and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Pettis lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Pettis lands a nice knee to the body.

Pettis breaks from the clinch.

Pettis has taken the fight to the clinch.

Pettis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Yuksel dodges the punch combination from Pettis.
Yuksel tries a head kick but it misses.

Pettis moves into the clinch.
Yuksel has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Pettis after a bit of a struggle.

Pettis's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Yuksel walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Pettis connects with a high kick.

Pettis darts in and clinches Yuksel up against the cage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pettis throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Yuksel.
Anthony Pettis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Yuksel shoots in looking for a takedown. Pettis tries to sprawl out of it but Yuksel keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pettis manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hakan Yuksel. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anthony Pettis dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Pettis closes the distance and pushes Yuksel back into the cage.

Pettis moves into range and clinches up with Yuksel.
Pettis lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Pettis is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Yuksel tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Pettis avoids it.

Pettis's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Pettis has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Pettis looks to land a combination but Yuksel avoids it well.
Yuksel misses with a jab, cross combination.

Pettis moves into the clinch.

Pettis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Yuksel wants to clinch.

Pettis takes the fight into the clinch.

Pettis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
A head kick from Pettis lands but Yuksel takes it in his stride.
Yuksel shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Pettis swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Oooooh!!! Pettis has knocked Yuksel down with a huge combo! Pettis steps away and waves a wobbly Yuksel back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


Yuksel is rocked!


It looks like Hakan Yuksel has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Yuksel drops his hands momentarily and Pettis needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Yuksel just on the top of the head. Yuksel drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Yuksel - he's done!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Anthony Pettis!
Anthony Pettis decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
