Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joel Charles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hayrullah Kaymaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joel Charles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hayrullah Kaymaz!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Ren Mimura and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kaymaz rushes Charles and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Kaymaz is pressed up against the cage. Charles has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kaymaz down to the mat. Kaymaz avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Charles tries to clinch up.
Charles tries to clinch but Kaymaz moves away

and Kaymaz moves into the clinch.
Charles is looking for a takedown.
A frustrated look appears on Kaymaz's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Charles tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joel Charles. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kaymaz pulls guard effortlessly.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Kaymaz has a closed guard, preventing Charles from standing up.
Charles wants to control from the top but Kaymaz keeps moving.
Kaymaz has control of Charles's left arm, preventing Charles from doing any damage.

Kaymaz bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Charles's guard.
Charles wants to sweep here but Kaymaz controlling him for the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Joel Charles.
Charles drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Kaymaz has taken the fight to the clinch.

Charles manages to pull guard.

Kaymaz working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Charles's head.
Charles thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Kaymaz is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Kaymaz tries to free his leg and advance position but Charles is retaining full guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Kaymaz drops back, looking for a kneebar! Charles looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Charles looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Charles!

Charles creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Kaymaz sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Kaymaz is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Kaymaz is looking for a sweep. Charles is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Charles is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kaymaz doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Charles.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Charles tries to pass the half guard into mount. Kaymaz knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Charles is stalling here. Kaymaz is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Charles seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Kaymaz has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Kaymaz goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Charles rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Kaymaz's guard! Nice work there by Charles!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Charles darts in trying to clinch

and Kaymaz counters by clinching up.
Kaymaz stalling in the clinch.
Charles jumps guard but Kaymaz stands there with Charles around his waist. Charles gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Kaymaz gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Charles.
Kaymaz tries a body shot but Charles blocks it.
Charles wants to take the fight to the mat but Kaymaz manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joel Charles. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kaymaz turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Kaymaz manages to end up in side control.
Charles is looking for a sweep.

Kaymaz decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Kaymaz is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Charles's half guard.
Kaymaz slows the pace down in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Kaymaz wants to take a breather but Charles is having none of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Hayrullah Kaymaz was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Charles wants to clinch up but Kaymaz keeps it at a distance.
Charles moves to clinch but Kaymaz breaks away

and Kaymaz counters by clinching up.

Charles gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Charles is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Kaymaz to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
Charles will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Kaymaz throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Kaymaz is breathing heavily.

Kaymaz scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Charles tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kaymaz paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Joel Charles is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Charles throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Charles gets tackled into the cage by Kaymaz. Kaymaz maintains the clinch.
Charles drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Kaymaz gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Kaymaz gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Kaymaz uses his free foot to push down on Charles's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Charles.
Kaymaz lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Charles is trying to escape the mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hayrullah Kaymaz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Kaymaz moves into the clinch successfully.
Kaymaz is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Charles is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Kaymaz stops a takedown attempt from Charles.

Kaymaz breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Kaymaz has clasped his hands together around Charles's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Kaymaz goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Charles has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Kaymaz but great work by Charles.
Kaymaz takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Kaymaz wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Charles is looking to take a break and control but Kaymaz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Kaymaz is trying to improve his position.
Charles looking to control but instead Kaymaz has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.

Charles is trying to control. Kaymaz wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Kaymaz tries to get to full guard but Charles has control of the leg.

Charles looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Kaymaz looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Kaymaz is looking to control Charles's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kaymaz avoid being mounted?

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Charles trying to control the action but Kaymaz is working from the bottom.
Charles passes the guard and advances to mount!
Charles prevents Kaymaz from getting the reversal.
Kaymaz is bucking up trying to escape but Charles cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

And that's the end of the fight!
Hayrullah Kaymaz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kaymaz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
