The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Miller lands a head shot.
Miller throws an overhand right that lands on De Villefort's shoulder, as De Villefort tries to avoid the shot.

Marcus Miller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
De Villefort closes the distance and pushes Miller back into the cage.
De Villefort lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Miller backwards.
Miller is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables De Villefort to keep the fight standing.

Miller tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. De Villefort smiles and moves away.
Noirtier De Villefort has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus Miller.
Miller shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Miller shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. De Villefort defends it nicely.

Miller fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt De Villefort.

Miller bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
De Villefort stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and De Villefort wants it to stay on the feet.
De Villefort takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
De Villefort moves in looking to clinch but Miller pushes him off.
De Villefort tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Miller paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Miller misses the shot to the body.
De Villefort dodges the punch combination from Miller.
De Villefort lands a left and a right that send Miller crashing to the mat, dazed. De Villefort thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
De Villefort misses with a wild combination.
A decent looking cross lands there for De Villefort.

De Villefort pushes Miller against the cage. De Villefort is working some dirty boxing. De Villefort pushes off with a quick right hook! Miller goes down! Miller tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! De Villefort moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
