The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gattuso fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Anderson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Anderson has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Gattuso.
Anderson looks to score with a jab to the body but Gattuso is just out of range.
Anderson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gattuso.

Gattuso lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Gattuso dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Anderson. That did some damage!
Gattuso throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Anderson on the side of the head.

Anderson is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Gattuso is defending well for now.

A relieved looking Javier Gattuso thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
