Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Neto! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Steve West! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Emerson Jorge and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! West moves in looking to clinch but Neto pushes him off. West is looking to clinch. Neto fails with a takedown attempt from distance. The fight stays on the outside here - West looks like he's thinking about clinching though. West swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Neto shoots in and drives through. West sprawls well. Neto misses with a takedown attempt - West sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Antonio Neto. That's going to take a lot out of him. West motions for Neto to come forward. West throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. West pushes Neto up against the cage in a clinch. Neto tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. West just stands there and leans against the cage. West tries to land a knee to the head but Neto blocks with his arms.

Neto is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Neto wants to get back to his feet but West is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. West seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Neto looking to control.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Neto shoots in and drives through. West sprawls well. Neto fails miserably with a takedown attempt. West moves in looking to clinch but Neto pushes him off. Neto scores with a takedown into West's guard. Neto looking to sit in guard and control but West gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. West trying to stand up but can't free himself from Neto's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. West not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Neto is trying to keep West in close.

Steve West dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Neto shoots in for a takedown but West shows good takedown defense. Neto tries to keep at a distance but West has taken the fight into the clinch. West lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
It looks like Antonio Neto has been cut. Neto tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Neto tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. West smiles and moves away.

West scores with a hook to the body. Neto takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Neto looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? West is fending him off so far but Neto persists. Nope, West circles away and we're back to standing. West moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Neto circles away from the clinch attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. West tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Neto paws at him with a jab and circles away. West wants to clinch up but Neto keeps it at a distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. West tries to close the distance and clinch but Neto swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Neto tries to keep at a distance but West has taken the fight into the clinch. West breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. West has closed the distance and engaged Neto in a clinch.
