Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Leonardo Lion!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Phil Schofield and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lion lands a high kick!
We've been hearing reports that Goldman has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Lion has taken the fight to the clinch.

Goldman has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Lion clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Lion is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Goldman off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Goldman is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Lion is defending well though. Goldman let's go of the attempt for now.
Will Goldman go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Goldman is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lion is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The referee asks Goldman politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Goldman prefers to stall for the moment though.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Lion is trying desperately to improve position.

Goldman is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Lion gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Goldman ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Goldman no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Lion throws an elbow that misses. Goldman uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Lion's guard. Nice move by Goldman!

Lion felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Tony Goldman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Goldman has hold of Lion's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Lion manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Lion does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Lion ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Lion throws a low kick, looking for Goldman's leg but Goldman calmly moves out of range.
Goldman takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Leonardo Lion seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lion throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lion thows a body shot but no joy.
Goldman tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Lion manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Goldman moves in looking to clinch but Lion pushes him off.
Lion avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Goldman shoots in for a double leg but Lion sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Lion lands a nice hook to Goldman's body. Goldman takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Lion misses with a wild body shot.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Goldman checks a leg kick.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Goldman seems to be working for a kimura but Lion defends the submission attempt.

Goldman is trying to control the action in half guard but Lion is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Goldman is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Lion avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Goldman.

Goldman is nestled in close to Lion, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Goldman is keen to just control but Lion is a slippery customer.

Goldman looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Goldman is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lion doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Goldman.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Goldman, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
