Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Helio Machado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Michael Bluth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Machado comes to the cage accompanied by Mindless Self Indulgence - Bitches. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Helio Machado! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, George Michael Bluth! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Thiago Cunha and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bluth stuffs the takedown. Bluth scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Machado is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Bluth pulls his head out easily. Bluth is keen to just control but Machado is a slippery customer. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Machado actively working from the bottom here. Bluth is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Machado gets back to full guard.
Machado has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bluth can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Bluth trying to control but Machado is working from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Machado is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Bluth pulls his head out easily. Bluth should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Machado is looking for a sweep. Bluth is trying to control the action in half guard but Machado is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Machado is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Bluth pulls his head out easily. Machado looking for submissions off his back.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. A jab from Bluth does it's job there. Machado tries for a takedown but Bluth circles away easily and Bluth counters with a shoot takedown. Machado fights it but they end up in guard.

Machado escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bluth gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Bluth avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Bluth wants to control but Machado is keeping him busy. Machado tries to bench press Bluth off him but Bluth keeps the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bluth escapes and throws Machado's legs to the side, diving into side control! Machado manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Bluth controlling the action here. Bluth passes to side control. Bluth gets to mount! Machado was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Machado is working hard here to advance position. Bluth wants to control the pace but Machado is squirming around nicely. Machado is trying to escape the mount.
Bluth takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Machado tries to get to full guard but Bluth has control of the leg. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bluth connects with a nice short shot to Machado's temple. Bluth is taking a breather. Machado says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Machado moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Machado throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Bluth escapes and throws Machado's legs to the side, diving into side control! Machado is looking for a sweep. George Michael Bluth showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Bluth closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Machado to the mat! Machado manages to get full guard. Machado is looking for a triangle but Bluth pushes his legs off easily.
Bluth tries to free his leg and advance position but Machado is retaining full guard. Machado had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Bluth is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Machado Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Bluth's back instead. Bluth preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Machado. Machado looking to break Bluth's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Bluth remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Machado will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Bluth trying to control but not successfully. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Bluth throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

He's being very persistent here but Bluth manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Bluth forces his way into half guard. Machado has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Machado is looking to reverse the position. Bluth gets to mount! Machado was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Bluth prevents Machado from getting the reversal. Bluth can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Machado is looking to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Bluth sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Helio Machado has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Bluth lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

And that's the end of the fight! George Michael Bluth comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Bluth has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
