Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Darron Carlson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Adrian Passe! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Ben Hemmingworth and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Passe misses with a double jab
and Carlson counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Passe moves into the clinch. Carlson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Passe throws a series of punches but Carlson moves out of range. Passe misses with a series of wild punches.
Passe throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Passe misses with the combination.
Passe looks winded! Carlson gets tackled into the cage by Passe. Passe maintains the clinch. Passe is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Carlson gets control of Passe's arms and successfully pulls guard. Carlson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Carlson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Passe would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Passe wants to stand and escape but instead Carlson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Passe is working an open guard so Carlson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Carlson really is a fat lump. Carlson shoots in looking for a takedown but Passe manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Carlson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Passe throws a head kick that misses. Passe throws a combination that misses and Carlson moves into the clinch. Carlson jumps guard but Passe turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Carlson fails to pull the fight into his guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Carlson is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Passe to keep the fight standing. Carlson jumps guard but Passe turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Passe is trying to break free. Passe tries to circle away but Carlson has him pinned against the cage. Carlson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Passe will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Carlson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Passe to the mat! Passe manages to get full guard. Passe wants to stand but Carlson is controlling the position. Passe can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Carlson controls the pace. Carlson stands up over Passe, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carlson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Passe is looking to stand up but Carlson isn't so interested in that idea. Passe wants to get back to his feet but Carlson passes into half guard.
Passe pushes Carlson off but Carlson dives into side control.
Passe wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Carlson stands up and we're back to a striking position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Passe throws a left and a right that both miss
and Carlson counters with a left and a right that stings Passe. Passe throws a sloppy head kick and Carlson moves out of range easily. Passe throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Carlson slips a jab from Passe. Carlson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Passe was covering up waiting for the punch and Carlson finishes the takedown easily into guard. Passe wants to get back to his feet but Carlson is in a dominant position and won't allow it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Passe wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Carlson manages to pass to side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Passe scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Carlson scores with a takedown into Passe's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Passe is looking to stand up but Carlson isn't so interested in that idea. Passe is working an open guard so Carlson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Carlson looks to land a combination but Passe avoids it well. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Passe throws a combination that misses and Carlson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Passe wants to stand but Carlson is controlling the position. Carlson postures up in Passe's guard and throws a big left but Passe blocks it. Carlson stops Passe from standing up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Carlson trying to control but Passe is working from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Darron Carlson. Passe closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Carlson lands a shot to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carlson jumps guard but Passe stands there with Carlson around his waist. Carlson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Passe's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Passe moves into the clinch. Carlson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Passe pulls him back up using the underhooks. Passe wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Carlson has clasped his hands together around Passe's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Passe sneaks out the side door and pushes Carlson away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Passe is trying to push Carlson away but Carlson has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Carlson tries to pull guard but Passe holds him up against the cage and eventually Carlson drops back down to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Passe wants to break free but Carlson has control.
Passe has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Passe escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Carlson moves out of range of the leg kick from Passe. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Darron Carlson will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Darron Carlson's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
A head kick misses from Passe. Carlson dives in for a single leg takedown but Passe sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Carlson tries to pull guard but Passe won't allow it.
Carlson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Passe smiles and moves away.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Passe throws a series of punches but Carlson moves out of range. Passe misses with a wild combination.
Carlson shoots in and bounces Passe off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carlson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Carlson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Passe is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Carlson is controlling him. Passe is looking to stand back up but Carlson counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Passe. Passe is looking to escape. Passe is looking to get back to is feet but Carlson passes into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carlson cracks Passe with an elbow. That is naaassty. Carlson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Passe is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Carlson lands an elbow. Carlson landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Carlson prevents Passe from escaping the position. Carlson lands a decent elbow from side control. Passe pushes Carlson away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Carlson gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carlson trying to control the action but Passe is working from the bottom. Passe is pushing Carlson's head away, looking to escape. Carlson manages to hold on to the position though. Check out the look on Carlson's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Carlson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Carlson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

And that's the end of the fight! Darron Carlson showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Carlson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
