Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Abrams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quavious Marshall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marshall has chosen Migos-Emmit Smith as his entrance music. John Abrams has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John Abrams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Quavious Marshall!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Winston Alpacca and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Abrams gets the takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
You can see the frustration on Marshall's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Marshall is trying to get back to half guard.
Marshall prevents Abrams from improving position.
Marshall is letting Abrams control him for a moment.
Marshall tries to improve position but can't.
Abrams will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Marshall is pushing Abrams's head away, looking to escape. Abrams manages to hold on to the position though.

The ground and pound from Abrams seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Marshall tries to improve position but can't.
Abrams misses with the ground and pound.

Abrams has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Marshall looks winded!

Abrams closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Marshall did well to prevent Abrams getting side control.
Marshall is looking to improve his position.
Abrams wants to free his trapped foot but Marshall is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Marshall tries to roll over but Abrams keeps him under control.
Abrams is taking a breather. Marshall says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Marshall looking for submissions off his back.
Abrams missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Abrams seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Marshall does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Abrams slows the pace down in half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Marshall regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Abrams.

Abrams decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Abrams scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Abrams is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Marshall has managed to free his arm - good work.
Abrams trying to control the action but Marshall is working from the bottom.
Abrams is looking to stall here but Marshall recovers full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Abrams is looking to work some ground and pound but Marshall has wrist control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Abrams throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Marshall tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Abrams is in Marshall's guard.

Marshall is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Abrams controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Abrams missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Marshall keeping full guard, as Abrams tries to pass.
Abrams postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Marshall is breathing heavily.

Marshall looking for a sweep. Not yet Marshall, not yet.

Marshall is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Abrams presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Abrams turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Marshall can't do much from the bottom here.
Abrams really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Abrams wants to control for a moment but Marshall uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Marshall wants to get back to full guard.

Abrams is trying to control. Marshall wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Abrams takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Abrams lands strikes from half guard.
Abrams is looking to advance position but Marshall won't allow it.
Marshall tries to roll over but Abrams keeps him under control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Abrams trying to control from half guard but Marshall is working away.

We're going to have a standup here because John Abrams wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Marshall fails in his attempt to clinch.

Abrams fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Marshall, pushing him back against the cage.
Abrams stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Abrams manages to break the clinch.
A left and a right from Abrams both land. Nice combination.

Abrams closes the distance and clinches.
Marshall drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Abrams gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Abrams ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Abrams no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Abrams striking off his back but it's not causing Marshall any problems.

Abrams throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Marshall is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Abrams tries to land a sweep but no joy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Abrams dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Marshall darts in looking for a takedown but Abrams gets double underhooks and turns Marshall into the cage.
Abrams gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Marshall.

Abrams breaks from the clinch.

Abrams shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Abrams was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Marshall tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Abrams is looking to take a break and control but Marshall is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Marshall takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Marshall is looking for a sweep.
Abrams misses with the ground and pound.
Abrams taking a breather here.

The ref stands the fighters back up because John Abrams just wasn't active enough.

Abrams closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Abrams trying to control from half guard but Marshall is working away.
John Abrams overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Marshall won't allow Abrams to pass to mount.
Abrams seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Marshall does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Marshall keeping moving, preventing Abrams from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up. John Abrams wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Abrams clinches up against the cage.

Abrams has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Marshall is trying to keep an underhook but Abrams manages to get the takedown into half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Abrams is thwarting Marshall's attempts to control the position.
Abrams slows the pace down in half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
John Abrams showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Abrams has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
